Default Enamul Haque jnr: another stepson?

What will this 25-year old boy have to do to play for Bangladesh? Clearly, Shakib is our best SLA bowler, but Enamul Haque jnr is better than all other SLA bowler in the country. AR used to be good, but since altering his action, he sends too many deliveries on the leg stamp. Enamul has been great in the domestic cricket. He has excellent average, economy, and strike rate in all formats. Then again, what can we expect of our selectors?

Well that just shows that our spin department is full of quality bowlers so of course many players like Enamul Haque jr will feel disappointed. But whats the point of bowling slow when the wickets are dead flat? at least Enamul didn't have to bore himself like Shakib and Gazi in that test series recently. However, if I was in charge then I'll use him for the test series early next year against Sri Lanka.

Enamul doesn't make it to the team because of Shakib, Razzak and Enam, all decent bowlers in various formats of the game.

The same cannot be said about Nazmul, who doesn't get in because of the likes of Abul, Shafiul and Shahadat, all face-palm bowlers in all formats of the game.

Seems like so...

We should always play two specialist spinner in tests; thus, Enam could be drafted in easily.

We could have played enam jr instead of sn or nazimuddin in test, we didnt need nasir at number 8, he could bat up one step above. If selectors were smart like fans they wud pick this squad

Tamim
Anamul
Naeem
Mushfiq
Shakib
Nasir
Mahmudullah
Sohag gazi
Abul hasan
Enamul jr
Rubel hossain

In that way, shakib wudnt have to bowl that many ovrrs and get injured

I would in fact drop all the pacers and play 3 spinners plus Shakib. West Indies would be all out within 200 in each innings. With right field placement, combination of Sunny, and Enam would be deadly! As a matter of fact, I think these 2 could do better than Gazi actually!

My Team for Test would have been:
Tamim, Anamul, Zunaed
Nayeem, Nasir,
Shakib, Mushy
Mahmudullah,
Enamul, Sunny, Gazi

With the Team above, right field placement and on a bouncy spinning wicket, I don't see how WI could cross 200...that was our only hope to get 20 wickets. Can't believe we were scared of Sunil and Parmuel! They are very inexperienced in Test!!

We need to start having some players play Test ONLY. e.g. Elias Sunny, Enamul, Shahadat

All top teams have three sets of players for the three types of cricket.

Shahadat? You mean the Shahadat "I only grunt at 150 kph" Hossain?

Enamul's ODI economy is excellent. I think he should be in the ODI team, in place of AR.

I know spin is our strength, but I don't think this would work. Maybe against WI in the series, IDK. India once had the 4 best spinners in the world, but until Kapil Dev came along, they were the doormats of world cricket.

He's the ORIGINAL stepson who unlike Nazmul, gets no chances no matter what he does. He has been bowling extremely well over the last 3 years no matter where he bowls. I felt he bowled amazingly well against the West Indian C team when we BanglaWashed them in the Caribbean. True he didn't get many wickets but his quality bowling created immense pressure from one end as guys like Riyad picked up wickets from the other.

He seems to be out of favor no matter what he does. Maybe he's a victim of one of the informal quota systems we hear about so much from the inside.

He did made a mark yesterday for the selector's to take note. A few more good performance in the 4 days & NCL and BPL will definitely earn him a call up for the tour against Sri Lanka.

enamul jr doesn't make the team because we have shakib one of the best spinners in the world atm, sunny who has done really well since his debut thus doesn't deserve to be dropped and gazi who although has only just come to the fore in national colours he has taken the opportunity that was given to him and he's a quality off spinner which is good for variation.

i'm sure if sunny plays and has a bad run then enamul jr will take sunny's place, but if sunny performs when he gets to play then there's not much enam can do to get into the side/squad. we just have a good bunch of spinners atm who are all performing.

I have always been his fan and I think he is the best spinner in the country at the moment for longer version cricket (test). He needs to be given few matches before being judged.

Enamul is good for tests...don't think he will make it to the ODIs. Nazmul doesn't get in due to lack of pace in tests, he might make it in ODIs.

Naz is a hard working cricketer - he knows his limitation, thus, keep line and length straight and tight.

Yes he may be a kind of step son, bit on the othe hand, ultimately it's the player who have to make sure that whatevr opportunity he gets , he make a strong case for himself.

I better perefomance against WI warm-up game could have made a stronger case for him. That would have created a pressure to the selectors. But for now, a good performanc efrom Shohag will eliminate the discussion for now, its out of his control now.

well to put enam in this team with shakib on the board, you need razzak to fail badly..now if you see past t20 and odi performances razzak hasn't bowled badly, in fact he was better then Average. So you just cant drop a experience veteran if he is doing ok for a youngster no matter how good he bowls in the domestic leagues..BD domestic league is far far <<<<< then Int cricket

He has been bowling well for the last 3 years, but whenever a SLA is selected in addition to Shakib, it is not him. I would play him ahead of AR in ODI and ES in tests. He also takes wickets. We need to find out whether he is real or not.

AR has not been as good since changing his action, but your point is noted. BTW, Enamul has done pretty well in his limited ODI exposure.
