Shakib's secret is his work on bowling. Nasir has become a part-timer. I hope Mominul continues his work on bowling.

Good question NW, definitely it's not only you. TBH Shakib's bowling was pretty ordinary at the beginning and until that 7-for against NZ his stats were also really poor, but boy didn't he manage to turn that around, he must be one of the most improved international bowlers after making the debut. Only sheer hard work can result such drastic improvements and i'm sure if Nasir and Mominul give the same effort as Shakib then they'll also become a lot better if not as good as him.

Mominul Haque included in Cricinfo's Test batting shortlist for their awards

Mominul Haque
181 v New Zealand
first Test, Chittagong
Bangladesh had conceded 469 to New Zealand in the first innings and then slipped to 8 for 2 in response, which brought 22-year-old Mominul to the crease in his fourth Test. He battled through a pressure situation, but Bangladesh suffered more setbacks to be reduced to 180 for 4. He finally found solid support from the lower-middle order and continued resolutely to score his maiden Test hundred - 181, which gave Bangladesh the first-innings lead and set the tone that would continue to deny New Zealand through the series.

No one ever watched that innings apart from BDeshis or Kiwis

Most cricket experts don't even know Mominul is. Aus commies not knowing too much about Shakib says it all.

i find it very difficult to believe that ex players don't know anything about shakib, if they really don't then it shows that despite cricket being their life they don't have a respect for the entirety of the game because BD is a test nation and they come up against australia quite often and commentators obviously look at oppositions record and stats.

whether they're pretending they don't know or they truly don't know, either way it's disrespectful towards cricket as a whole, like i said BD is a full member test playing nation, it's not like they're some associate team and it's not like BD only just got test status.

Momin you beaut. A lot of people including myself had reservations, they guy simply has the grit to grind it out. You've got to hand it to him. I thought Anamul would be the one to have a big career and Mominul would be a handly lower order batsman, but boy, was I wrong.
Another top series for him, keep em' coming coming Momin!

PS: Some guy was calling for him to get dropped after the first match in another thread, I guess we'll never see him around again

Scored more runs at #4 in 13 innings, than Ashraful did in 44.

He is Bangladesh's greatest #4.

Little Momin already has more guts than that guy's favorite player will ever have in his entire career. Take a bow Sourav

Only 7 Tests in, he has surpassed both Shakib and Mushfiq in terms of centuries scored and that too batting in such a difficult spot as number 4 (as the stats show above). One away from equalling Tamim. Quite possibly the best Test batsman we have produced to date. Hope he only gets better and better.

awesome to see this kid score his 3rd ton in such a short space of time and even beat mushy and shakib to that mark, one more and he's equal to tamim with only ash ahead of him.

How authentic is this?-

Quote:
Mominul Haque Need 245 run in next 2 matches to become the fastest to score 1000 in test Cricket History.
Currently The Record Holder is Sutcliffe from England. He earned that record on 1924

Mominul is one of the few players I liked the first time I saw him bat internationally (31 in 29 against WI). Yeah, I know he was not too impressive in that ODI, but I saw a confident batsman underneath that small package! Even Bradman did not impress in his first match! (Not that I expect another Bradman in Mominul.)
Generally, #3 or #4 is the team's best batsman. Insha'Allah he is here to stay...

Sutcliffe's record remains unbroken as Mominul has already played 13 innings. Let's see if he can surpass Pujara or Graeme Smith
