^^you hear a lot of things. You must have super-sonic ears. How did you hear that Bangladesh will build a 100k stadium in Cox's Bazar?

3rd ODI tickets are still available, i had a visit to stadium area last evening at around 8 PM. i had a conversation with one black-ticket seller and he told me almost 6000+ tickets are in the hand of the blackers.

already last evening the price of tickets were thrice the original price. but most of the blackers are not selling yet as they are expecting to sell tickets 5-10 times the original price is as they have assessed the heavy demand of tickets.

u cant just have a big stadium without assessing the environmental impact and the transportation and other issues.

those who have experience of leaving the stadium after 9 PM knows how tough it is to arrange transportation if u dont have ur own. and again SNCS dont have a parking lot. the roads in front our home are used for parking.

a big stadium should come up with proper planning of good transportation and other facilities, i dont think the area SBNCS is will not cope up with a 40k+ capacity. although i dont know how much extension is possible.

most of the time stadium is only 1/4 full and you want 100k seats.

it's very tough to come from other side of the town to mirpur. and it takes forever to leave from mirpur as well.

home of cricket should have been bongobondu stadium. near to majority of dhaka people. more than 50k people come to watch domestic football games in that stadium. always full.

i think even 25k is way too much in mirpur.

I think all of you are starting to talk about a fundamental problem with Dhaka. A city with no real public transport system. Until that is resolved ..... Even 25K is too much for Dhaka.

Z bro, transportation is a problem true, but 25k is not enough for dhaka. thousands left outside when our team plays any international match in Mirpur. Mirpur needs at least 50k ground.

Two thumbs up.

Maybe its not about building a big stadium, but about building a big stadium in Dhaka.

Classical problem: How to implement a city wide subway system? the subway(s) will make round trips throughout the city 24/7, you just catch it and move from point to point...

The plus-side to this idea is that it should eliminate traffic and don't have to wait too long to get from point A to point B unlike today.

the downside to this idea is revamping Dhaka city, very costly and time consuming project.

what are the alternatives?

50k+ people come to watch our world class domestic football? News to me.

Mirpur(Agargaon, Taltola, Shewrapara, Kazipara, Mirpur -10, Mirpur -2, Kallayanpur, Kochukhet, Pallabi and so on...) is so densely populated, people of Mirpur alone can fill the stadium. :-)

And, it is not less pain to go and back from Gulistan where the Bangabondhu national stadium is; Because most of the offices are in that area. It all depends on where you leave. If you are in Mohammadpur, Shaymoli, Gabtoli, Lalmatia, Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Banani, Farmgate and to some extend Kalabagan, Gulshan then Mirpur is more than perfect.

Development of the underground rail as part of the MRT project from Motijheel to Mirpur will start this year. We will get the subterranean metro rails within 2017.

Must have sold most of the tickets to the Dalals...that's why people are angry...now they have to buy it in 3/4 times high price..

i agree with you .....

the people who lives in Rampura, Mogbazar, malibag, jatrabari, arambagh, komlapur, puran dhaka, azimpur will prefer the bangabandhu stadium but the rest of dhaka will prefer mirpur.

but at this moment if BD are playing good cricket then the location of stadium is not important. you can always fill up even a 100000 stadium. specially in ODI's and T20s. in the test matches it may be a problem to fill up which is natural

Just out of curiosity, how much do tickets sell for in BD?

Yes, burning booths will automatically print tickets and install extra seats. This is why you should stay in school kids.

This is a good opportunity to decentralize dhaka. To watch a BD game (and possibly see BD win) move to ctg, khulna etc
