Default BPL 3 with new franchises

http://www.tigercricket.com.bd/news/...nership-rights

Looks like BCB is looking to launch bpl again, though they havent used that name here. They might change the name. Wont be a bad thing that, and especially now that they are looking for completely new franchises, which is just wonderful. Hope they wont repeat the mistakes from before. But if the leading business houses dont want to get involved here and buy franchises I think this might go the same way. We didnt really know any of the houses that bought the franchises the last time around, they didnt have any brand value to protect, no saleable goodwill to speak of, and thats why they could do whatever they wanted and did whatever they wanted. Wish the likes of Square, Abdul Monem, Apex would buy and will still be happy if Akij, Transcom, PHP, Bashundhara, Meghna etc etc [there are plenty more] are interested and wish theyd look to partner and coshare with big stars from the tv and the music industry, who's got brand value to protect.

i desperately wanna see they play lyk IPL home and away type a game bcz it will build more crowd for home team , example if sylhet games happen in sylhet than their will be full of sylheti crowd to support sylhet , its gonna give more money to bcb from the ticket since all the games will be sold out if they play home and away base , hopefully they use coxbazar stadium as a home team for barisal or rangpur

Good that they are slowly moving towards restring back BPL.

The only concern is that it will again attract the bookies. I hope this time BCB will have a better control over that. There is already few (atleast 2) talented players who are in un-official BCB watch list and kind of halting their career. We don't want to see more young talent going in that direction.

How much foreign players it will it attract? There will be some, who will still come, some will avoid for various reason. I believe we shouldn't try to model it exactly like IPL, rather we should attract young foreign talent from test playing nation and established stars associate teams, avoiding true senior big name super stars. that will make the model more financially sustainable and provide greatest buck for money to our cricket.

Attraction of Bookies and how BCB handles them are my only concern.

My biggest concern is if theyre going to be able to pay the players this time. Nothing more embarassing than players saying they havent paid me this percent, they owe me that percent. This cannot come up, this cannot happen again.

Do anyone know if any foreign player still owes money from any BPL franchise or later part BCB who promised to fill up all the demands ?

Good that we are going to be having BPL this year. That means that WI won't be touring us in December.

It is important that we have a home and away system, and make sure that the payment system is proper and no loopholes at all

I'm sure, this edition won't be as exciting as the previous two. It's going to be a low profile, poor man's tournament. May be we won't get quality foreign players. But anyway, I would welcome a Franchise based T20 tournament even with only local players. Just need to broadcast it on TV, that works to make the players perform.

DPL teams do afford lot of good players with limited resource. If BCB can manage it properly to me still its possible to bring some good players.

All Pakistani players are hungry for money. . . . .

I think there are a lot of companies who are willing to pay good money but somehow all these BPL owners can't pay 3-4 million at all. BD might not have billionares but there are some incredibly rich people around to whom 3 million is like peanuts. If anything, BCB should make a legal contract where teams which fail to pay will be penalized, that way the cricketers will feel financially secured and should the teams not pay their dues, they will be taken to court

Looks very promising. Under the influence and guidance of Papon I think we may pull it off actually. It will be more structured and better organised this time, I am hoping so.

If the player's salary is kept in an escrow/bank account managed by an international financial company, only then international players will be confident to participate and get paid according to their contract. But I highly doubt that will be the case leading to very little to no interest from superstars. Without superstars you cant run this kind of mega show successfully as there wont be much interest from sponsors.
It will probably be similar to DPL, if it actually happens. where the players get paid pretty handsomely anyways with some international stars from various countries. I can see salary range up to $100K, not in half to million like IPL. Even then, I think many will not get paid fully according to their contract. Lets hope that wont be the case for the sake of our cricket and the reputation of our country.

Dont need the top shots to make it a competitive and fun T20 tournament...

Would love to see players like,

Sri Lanka
Dilshan, Kusal, Munaweera, Mubarak, Milinda

Pakistan
Shoib Malik, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Irfan

West Indies
Charles, Lewis, Blackwood, Fletcher, Fidel, Jerome

Zimbabwe
Chigambura, Masakdza, Williams

Ireland
Stirling, OBriens, Portfield

New Zealand
Latham, Ronchi, Elliot, Neesham, Ryder

England,
Lumb, Croft, Luke Wright, Chris Nash, Joss Cobb, Jason Roy

and some free agents like Ryan Ten, Hodge, Owais, Mahmood, Yasir...and some Aussies if possible

Good enough I would say... and we dont need to pay a fortune to bring em
