How come there are payment issues in the BPL when the DPL has been running smooth for decades? Maybe we should stick to what we can do and replace the BPL with a DPL T20 featuring C grade Pakistani players...oh wait.

If you are going to be so cheap then why dream about hosting a million dollar tournament?
Nobody forced BCB to follow IPL if they can't pay the players. This is really infuriating for us fans who will now have to hear snide remarks from fans of all other cricketing nations on cricinfo, fb etc

Game on Sports is a crap management company!simple!. They are similar to BCB, I have seen how they beg BCB and Franchise's to sort everything out they don't want to miss out on good money from sponsors and TV rights deal. BPL soon will come to an end, adios.

I must say that I've been enjoying the crowd so far in Khulna and Chittagong. It's unfortunate that some of the foreign players were complaining about Khulna, but I hope they have a better time in Chittagong and Dhaka.
I think that not have the Pakistani players might be a blessing in disguise. I really enjoy watching players from Zimbabwe, Ireland, Afghanistan and other associate nations. I also think that not having Pakistani players has raised the profile of Bangladeshi players. I mean they probably wouldn't be getting the same amount of attention if the big name Pakistani players were there.
I wish the tournament even more success and I look forward to watching more matches from Canada!

I'm surprised to see that the matches on 1st and 2nd of Feb are exactly the same. This just shows how poor our board also plans

Unpaid fees and broken promises could lead to a players' boycott of the Bangladesh Premier League, Tim May has warned. May, the chief executive of the Federation of InternationalCricketers' Associations (FICA) hasrevealed that "many" overseas players involved in the BPL remain unpaid and that players' patience with the organisers has worn thin. http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...ry/602823.html

DPL is run by established clubs (Mohammedan, Abahani) who has years of experience. On the other hand, BPL franchise are controlled by Shihab Trading and Orion/Walton and such and they have no idea about how to run a sporting franchise and they have not even hired any specialized person to do so. Getting ex-players such as Faruk and Sujon doesn't count.
On the other hand, DPL is also blamed for the lack of improvement in first class structure. It's a common sentiment "amader cricket club kormokortader hat e jimmi". So everybody acts in their own interest and very few for the interest of our cricket.

Uneducated people are most humble people in Bangladesh. Educated ones are the crooks.

Money is there and everyone is sincere in paying the players.. So I am optimistic that this would get resolved soon. Only downside is however that this fact again highlighted our lack of professionalism.

I would add a caveat to that. Uneducated people who have no association or proximity to rich, "educated" people are humble.

Orion sues I Sports, claims 100 crore
Court Correspondent
Orion Sports Ltd, the company that owns the Khulna Royal Bengals, yesterday filed a Tk 100 crore damage suit with a Dhaka court against I Sports Ltd, the owners of the Rangpur Riders, for making defamatory and derogatory remarks about spot-fixing in a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match between the teams.
Md Obaidul Karim, chairman of Orion Sports Ltd, filed the suit claiming Tk100 crore as compensation against Md Mustafa Rafiqul Islam, director of I Sports Ltd, for making derogatory statements.
Khulna beat Rangpur by nine runs on January 25. But the defendant Mustafa at a press conference alleged that Rangpur was a victim of spot-fixing and that Khulna was involved.
Karim stated that the news, which was published in The Daily Manab Zamin on January 27, was 'false, fabricated and concocted and it was fully malafide, defamatory and derogatory and it caused a loss of Tk 100 crore of Orion Sports Ltd.'
After the hearing, Judge Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan of the First Joint District Judge's Court of Dhaka issued a show cause notice asking the director of I Sports Ltd to explain within 25 days as to why he (Mustafa) shall not be restrained by an order of temporary injunction from making, publishing and repeating such prejudicial statements against the plaintiff.

ATMR is spot-on. Providing such a show-cause notice is totally in-efficacious as a temporary injunction after 25 days i.e. after the conclusion of the BPL will be a 'paper award'. The damage to Khulna's reputation, if any, will have been set in stone by that time.
But Tk 100 crore in damages?!?! LOL Good luck with that.
