I am loving the support for hockey, many of my friends and senior brothers played hockey. One of my friend was in BKSP hockey team during 90's and one senior brother was captain of Abahani hockey team.

I also played a season in Sylhet Hockey League in 1991. I was not that good so they made me the GK of the team. Our team was knocked out in Semi final against the Champion.

We r currently 4th in the table. Next opponents is weak Fiji and then a very strong India team.



We have to trash Fiji to improve our GD and also beat India (yes am dreaming) to get in the next round.


We lost to Ireland after taking 2-0 lead and then 2-5

জিমি: সমস্যা তো হবেই। অন্য দলগুলোতে ডাক্তার, ফিজিও, ভিডিও অ্যানালিস্টসহ সবই আছে। নেই শুধু আমাদের। এখানে টেন স্পোর্টসে খেলা দেখায়। টেন স্পোর্টস থেকে ম্যাচের ভিডিও নিয়ে পরে আমরা দেখি।

 প্রতিবারই সাফল্য আনলে প্রশ্ন হয়, সরকারের কাছে এখন চাওয়া কী? এবারও যদি প্রশ্নটা করি...
জিমি: ব্যাংককে এশিয়ান হকি ফেডারেশন কাপ জেতার পর জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদ আমাদের প্রত্যেক খেলোয়াড়কে ১০ হাজার টাকা করে দিয়েছিল। সিঙ্গাপুরে বিশ্ব হকি লিগের প্রথম রাউন্ডে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার পর সেটা কমে পাঁচ হাজার টাকা হয়ে যায়! কলকাতা থেকে ট্রেনে এসেছি দিল্লি। সরকারের কাছে চাওয়ার ইচ্ছাই তো আর নেই।

During the match, the commentators also said that, the Bangladesh team had to take a bus and train to get to Delhi from Kolkata whereas, the other teams mostly flew in..

this is inspirational. If they actually put money into hockey in Bangladesh then we might actually go places. Most of them have loads of potential.
