Taylor has been a super flop in this series and whole Zimbabwe struggling to score. we better make some plan to get Taylor out early and Chigumbura. We cannot afford to lose against them!!!!

That's harsh on Zimbabwe. They haven't played international cricket in 11 months whereas the WI have been playing nonstop. Do you really expect them to beat the WI in their home? Besides the 1st ODI, they put a good fight against them. We'd have trouble against them as well.
And we lost both the Test and ODIS series last time we played them and those were no flukes. Their pacers are better than ours and their batting lineup isn't that much worse than ours. We'll have to play really well to beat them.

Zimbabwe has some talented players but they are highly inconsistent(reminds you of another international team ) simply due to the fact that they do not get exposed to enough international cricket other than the odd series against Bangladesh. Some of the players that could have a major impact against Bangladesh in the upcoming series:
1. Hamilton Masakadza ( quite an obvious choice)
2. Brendan Taylor( another obvious choice)
3. Elton Chigumbura(yet another obvious choice)
4. Kyle Jarvis(decent fast bowler)
5. Tinotenda Mutumbotzi(newcomer bowls decent legspin)
6. Sean Ervine(has had a successful BPL campaign, which should boost his confidence)
I feel that these players pose a threat to defeat Bangladesh, other than that, the other players are far too inconsistent. Ray Price too is also a decent bowler and pose a threat if he is selected and on song.
Expectation from series: win everything, every format except that one odd loss(be it ODI, T20 or even Tests).

Hope people are watching this Test match. Best has bowled tremendouesly. Bowled fast, full and bowled great outswing. Both he and Roach have bowled with great control and discipline. There's a reason why Best and Edwards gave so much trouble to us compared to the likes of Eranga and Kulasekera.
Zimbabwean batsmen have also batted solidly. They've showed good temperament and application against a hostile pace attack. We have our work cut out against them. We can't afford to be complacent against them just because we're performing well against the Lankans.

LOL 7th ball over, and believe it or not Jarvis gets Roach on the 7th ball
Quote:
6.7
Jarvis to Roach, OUT, that's the seventh ball of the over by the looks of it, and it's struck Roach plumb in front. A full delivery angling into the right-hander from over the wicket and shaping away late. Roach played back and was hit low on the back pad. That's flattening middle. Gone.
KAJ Roach lbw b Jarvis 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
A timely boost for Zimbabwe. Kemar Roach has come out as a night watchman.
6.6
Jarvis to Powell, OUT, that looks adjacent and the umpire thinks so too! Powell has reviewed the lbw decision. Jarvis pitched on middle stump from over the wicket and swung the ball back into the left-hander. Powell was caught on the crease and played across the line. He was hit flush on the pad and that would have gone on to hit leg stump full on. That's a review gone for West Indies and Powell has to go.
KOA Powell lbw b Jarvis 5 (27b 1x4 0x6) SR: 18.51

Is WI cricket board that much richer than BCB, that they can afford DRS for Zim series, but we couldn't afford DRS when WI played us in BD?

Cricinfo reads spinners make it WI's day. Scorecard says WI are 18/2
looks like Zimbabwe fought back at the end of the day doesn't it

Roach was 1 of the wickets to fall. So basically they're 1 down

It's their 1st time playing a Test match in over a year. Not easy to bat on a pitch where it assists the pacers and face the likes of Best and Roach. I thought they did average job. Bottom line is that they need to be playing more matches. No excuses for them to be kept out of tours.
They still suck against spin though. Samuels picked up 4 wickets. Imagine them against the likes of Shakib and Sohag? So that's good for us but it'll still be tough to beat them.

Sammy killing them.
Quote:
66.5
Masakadza to Ramdin, 1 run, was that dropped too?, pitched up and he drives it straight back to the bowler, Masakadza put out his right hand and got a touch to it but couldn't hold on, was a sharp chance but he couldn't snap that one
66.4
Masakadza to Sammy, 1 run, dropped, Zimbabwe are faltering, pitched up outside off and Sammy square-drove it uppishly, more a slice, Ray Price is positioned perfectly at deep point, had to move a few paces to his right but he couldn't clasp it as he tried to take it over his head, another miss
66.3
Masakadza to Sammy, no run, missed run-out, Waller fails to hit the stumps direct at the non-striker's end, pushed it towards cover and Ramdin at the non-striker's end was miles out of his ground after taking a start
|
3 missed chances in 3 consecutive delivery

As they say, bad teams find a way to lose. Zimbabwe had them in a tough spot but let the Windies get away and build a sizeable lead. They're showing good fight but not they're taking their chances in order to give the Windies nerves.

This is another 3 dayer test going on here. I got a feeling that Zim still can loose this match with an innings in hand.

Jarvis will be a handful for us.

12.6 Syed Rasel to Sangakkara, OUT: What a delivery, completely fooled Sangakkara, first five delivery were the outswingers and now, this one comes in sharply, Sangakkara tries to left it and ball hits the off stump, top class bowling!

Their pacers are better than ours. They bowl with better control and discipline. Plus Ray Price is a good bowler as well. The key will be our spinners since Zimbabwe still seems clueless against spin

This is why Shillingford and Bishoo>Narine. Mystery spinners should be playing only T20Is and ODIs. While genuine wicket taking bowlers like Shil and Bishoo need to be in Tests

Why cricket board needs money for drs... its just a referral to the third umpire right?

Money needed for extra camera and hotspot or sneko etc... But that should be done by the broadcaster, not the board....
