Default CI: Mushfiqur wants Bangladesh to play more Tests

It's good to see Mushfiqur being vocal.

Isam reports: "Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim has made an appeal for more Tests for his side after they were much-improved competitors in the two-Test series in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh lost the series 0-1 but had positive results, forcing a draw in Galle, their first in this country."

Interesting quote from a fan in cricinfo comments "From Cricinfo: Prabuddha: "Like most of the things, Cricket is also a matter of believing in yourself. Like every country needs at least one visionary leader and one moment of glory to inspire, every cricket team needs at least one visionary captain and one moment of glory. For India it was Kapil dev in 1983. For pakistan it was Imran Kahn in 1992. For Sri Lanka it was Arjuna Ranathunga in 1996. Bangladesh needs to find that captain.!"

I think we have a good captain in Mushfiq. But i would like to see him employ more shrewd, astute tactics. He needs to work with a guerrilla approach much like Ranatunga did as a captain. For some reason he always prefer to go the traditional way.

Mushfiqur is pure Textbook material, nothing more nothing less.

From Akram Khan to Mushfiqur Rahim? Who do you guys rate Bangladesh's best ever captain. Its unfair to judge solely on results because our winning record has only improved in recent years.

Mushfiq seems to be a good team man, gels well with others, is able to motivate them. But to me Shakib, Khaled Mahmud were better tacticians.

Ranatunga was like Bradman or Benaud or Brearley as a captain. Always trying to win the next match. He did not care for the conventional way, but employed it when needed. He batted second knowing no team ever won a WC Final batting second. And he lifted the Cup several hours later.

Mushfiqur does not have it. At least not yet. The good thing is that he is willing to learn.

Who might that be? We all thought it'd be Shakib- the Kapil, Imran, Ranatunga of BD.

May be a built Nasir Hossain in 5-6 years?

I still can't forget and forgive the blunders he makes tactically time to time..despite his performance in batting and keeping are now key for our team to do well.
