Default The rest of the world sees us a big JOKE,.

2012 was a good year for us. We were all confident that we must have silenced many of our doubters and critics.
But then came the Sri Lanka TOUR last month,.they made 500+,we replied with 600+. We managed to draw that test match, our hopes were high as a kite. But then the next match, a perfect batsman/cricket batted with a bullyish intent because the bowling attack was toothless.
And now we here, in Zimbabawe, with a tag of favorites before entering the test match.
Once again, the bowling was toothless, feeding Brendan Taylor (who is a sub-par batsman ) like he was a hungry child ; responding to his mother's feeding.
If the bowling was toothless, the batting was like a house of cards.
If we considered ourselves tigers, then it must be ironic that other cricket nations see us as kittens-- even zimbabwe who are ranked lower than us ,and was thrashed in the West indies about two months ago.
If there was any lesson to be learnt (i'm saying this sarcastically),then our skipper mushy must set more attacking fields, bring more close-in fielders to the spinners. And the seamers must bowl wicket to wicket (the same thing that the zim's bowlers did) = they were sucessful because we made mistakes.

OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT TEST:
The approach of constructing an innnings must be impecable,
The batsmen should cement their stay at the crease(put a price to their wickets)
Whoever plays in the next match must give 200% (make up for the first test)
It's called test cricket for a reason -- stick to your guns. it's not qiz cricket (t20) that lasts for a couple of hours. test cricket is like algebra -- you have to know the basics first before climbing to the next level.

Good luck and best wishes in the second test my tigers. TIGERS ALL THE WAY

First off, these clowns need to differentiate between a test and T20 game.
They think any time they play with a cricket ball and bats is T20!

Dont worry, not many people knew about this Test, apparently, so we are ok. As Simon da said, this was just a warm up match!

the bangladesh cricket organisation needs to organise more 'A' team tours with the focus mainly on first class cricket

not many people know about this test because they are bz with ipl.

and most of our players are not good enough for ipl. so it is justified.

learn to be humble first...just because u had a decent tour in SL u started calling your new guys better than the up coming players of SL & Ind.. u and Zim was like SL & Bangla... and u guys got beaten by Zim by 300+ ? same as SL getting beaten by u by 300+..

at least try to draw the next test..or its utter humiliation for u

$hit happens. Our performance against Zim was no doubt disappointing, but this doesn't undermine our performance against SL. Our batsmen have shown they're good enough to play against SL/Ind bowlers in subcontinental conditions. They're just not very good when it comes to playing outside the subcontinent in seaming conditions. Our management made matters worse by opting not to have any warm up matches thereby forfeiting the opportunity to let our batsmen get familiarized with the conditions. If we come back strongly in the 2nd test and the subsequent limited over matches, I'll write off this performance as an exception.

Stupidity. That was one of the flattest tracks ever. 1600+ for 18 or 19 wickets if I recall correctly.

When SL scores 500+ then its poor bowling by BD but when BD scores 600 its flat track. When BD scores half of that in 2nd test, its poor batting AND then not slowest outfield ever.

When BD plays shocking cricket, like they just did in 1st test, they deserve all the criticism and most here are doing so. But when they play some good cricket, granted they are far and between, they deserve some praise too. But to you its the condition and 'stupidity'.

I meant it's stupid boost your hopes all of a sudden after scoring big on a highway. Not denying their performance, but can't be considered as a sign of great improvement.

Yes, it's not a sign of great improvement. Rather a glimpse of what the players are capable of if they apply themselves. But I think the team was riding on that false confidence and barely practiced leading up to the 1st test.

As Isam (cricinfo journalist) once said, BD team fails to cope with external influence on the game and he was right. For example, in 2nd test when outfield was slow, the players had no idea what to do. In the 3rd ODI, after rain the players came out slogging and almost lost the match.

Give Bangladesh a traditional subcontinent pitch with no other outside influence such as rain, slow outfield, bouncy or cracking pitch, and they will do well. But as soon as they face some challenges, they start to crumble. This current team is very one dimensional and they need more experience and exposure to different challenges and conditions.

I think Ash scoring 190 on his comeback test match is a sign of great improvement tbh.
