HBD Lalla :P

Yes, he is kinda unsung. Had he been charismatic like Shak-Tam and cut down on the callousness when fielding and batting (bar the inning against Zim), maybe he would have got more attention.

A Warrior Gone Unsung

by Isnaad Sharahbeel

In the context of present-day technological advancements, a modern day cricketer with unprecedented success and commendable consistency going barely noticed in the ever-alert media is no less than an irony. Fans in general, too, have tended to underrate this particular person despite his vital contributions with the ball time and time again. The person is none other than Abdur Razzak.

Happy Birthday Rajjak.

I feel like in terms of caliber he should be recognised side by side with Shakib. I guess fans aren't drawn to his personality but that shouldn't take away his achievements. He is an experienced campaigner who is performed every time he was needed to.

He is one of the best SLA's in the world in ODIs but as fans we never seem to recognise that. I guess we are used to seeing him perform all the time that we take it for granted.

Being ahead of the likes of Swann, Ashwin, Malinga, Steyn is no joke. He deserves to be praised for his efforts. Hopefully he will get even better and chase the likes of Narine and Ajmal.

Should get more respect in terms of the global cricketing worlds opinion, as I've pointed out in another thread, he's quite possibly the best SLA to ever play ODIs.

Yes, but he can go for runs in crucial periods, his fielding and those wides but other than that he is underrated in the cricketing world.

Also, there's a question mark over his action.

I don't think he is unsung as far as fans are concerned - the media? Sure...He isn't 'handsome lol' like Tamim, not a winner like 'shakib'...definitely not a cheat like 'ashraful' - he's a steady eddie.

Those time of players tend to get slightly overlooked, because they don't do the spectacular and so miss out on the big headlines.

But he has been a great servant, I'm just upset over the last 2 years or so, he's decided he doesn't care about batting at all. Agey ektu care korto, but now

The fact that Murali was allowed to compete means - no one should ever be banned. I don't care about his dexterity or whatever double jointed explanation they had - or what tests he passed in Australia.

If his action is legit...anything goes as far as I am concerned.

I used to question his bowling action back in the days but seeing player's like Shane Warne, Murali, Ajmal.. most of them have question mark about their bowling action. I think Razzak deserves more credit and hopefully he can do well against New Zealand.

He is a minnow basher. But at the same time, he has been pretty effective against G8 teams too. On the context of other Bangladeshi bowlers, his figures are pretty good.

In T20s he rarely played minnows. And still has a more than impressive average.

Razzak keeps is tight. That's his key strength. He always aims for the ball to go between bat and pad. With flight and arm ball in his arsenal, it can be difficult for batsmen to read him many times including world class batsmen Kevin Pieterson. He is a Shorter format specialist.

Shakib is more of a mind reader. He anticipates the batsmen to act and react to his deliveries and Shakib mixes it up very nicely.

Recently a guy by the name of Sir Jadeja has entered the scene, he has a lot of Variation, I guess more than Shakib after watching him for a while now. As a SLA bowler Jadeja look's pretty deadly and accurate. As an all-rounder Shakib is just above class, I thought for a second that Hafeez might be a threat due to Whatmore's ability to produce quality All-Rounder's e.g. Shakib. However, Hafeez has been a flop.

India has a really quality balanced spin attack with Jadeja and Ashwin. With Their Disciplined Fielding and And always explosive batting they are strong contenders for the cup. India: The team to beat!

India vs. South Africa final is what I am expecting from the Champions trophy.
