Dozens of people suffering abdominal pain were admitted on Wednesday to hospitals in Qatar after overeating on the first night of Ramadan, the Arabian Business website reported Thursday.
“Most of the cases at the emergency room during Ramadan are gastritis. We see 10 to 15 cases of overeating every day,” a medical staff member at al-Ahli Hospital told Arabian Business website.
Doha hospital received on emergency last year 100 patients after the first night of Ramadan, with most of them suffering from abdominal pain, dehydration or kidney problems, according the website reported.
In 2011, the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)’s emergency department recorded 7,700 of Ramadan-linked cases of illness, the report said.

There is a small food stall in Park Circus famous for its meals during Iftar. People gathers from 5:30 in the morning for a treat, with kochuri, gilipi, halim etc being the most favourite. However, the students from the nearby St. Xaviers College (morning section) make the highest no. of customers. I've been there twice with a friend when she was also a student there. Miss the good old college days.

Al-Imran: Ayat 92
By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, Allah knoweth it well.
Quote:
Narrated Abu Ayyub RA:
A man said to the Prophet (PBUH) "Tell me of such a deed as will make me enter Paradise." The people said, "What is the matter with him? What is the matter with him?" The Prophet (PBUH) said, "He has something to ask. (What he needs greatly) The Prophet (PBUH) said: (In order to enter Paradise) you should worship Allah and do not ascribe any partners to Him, offer prayer perfectly, pay the Zakat and keep good relations with your Kith and kin." (Sahih Bukhari - See Hadith No. 12, Vol 8).
Zakat is due once a year. It does not necessarily have to fulfilled in Ramadan but as the rewards are multiplied many folds in Ramadan, it is highly recommended to do it in this month to attain maximum rewards.

It is slightly complicated and one has to know few things before calculating what is due. This link answers basic terms and requirements -
http://www.irusa.org/campaigns/zakah...FYai4Aod83EAww

And this is a simple zakah calculator - http://www.irusa.org/zakahcalculator/

I was hoping to have a peaceful Ramadan month in Bangladesh this time - but alas - even Ramadan doesn't stop unrest and violence in Bangladesh.

The calculator above by rifat shows that they deduct the loans...

Basically seems like total assets minus total loans equals zakatable sum.

401k you don't have access to till you are 60. So I think the answer will depend on who you ask but hujur ppl seldom say this and that amount is not zakatable... Anything to get money out of you.

Roman bhai er 401k ki millions e hoilo naki in this vibrating stock market....
