Default Will our players' passion and intensity decrease if they get chance in IPL?

Just a thought that passed my mind, you can see the energy and the urge to 'give it' to the indians. They way we are fired up. One wonders, the passion and intensity which we are witnessing now, will it decrease in future, say, if our players starts to feature regularly in IPL? In future indo-Bangladesh matches, will our players be more chillaxed. We haven't seen really Shakib fired up today. That's one of the examples. What are your views guys? I for one, don't want this passion to fade away, forget the opposition. You can look at the Sri Lankans, how they've failed miserably against indians. What will be the case with us?

They won't get chances, thank god! Indians are too jealous/condescending to take BD players. Why do you think mushy didn't even bother with the auction?

Money talks in the end. Egos go out the window. If they think a Bangladeshi player can get the job done, then that's the last stuff which would be on their mind.

It can mess players up. Just look at West Indies. Likes of Narine, Bravo are more keen on IPL than representing their own colors. In Sri Lanka they also criticize Malinga for not doing what he does for Mumbai Indians-for Sri Lanka.

Like most of you said in the thread. I hope for our own good we stay out of IPL.

Ditto. It can also mess up with players skill. I might be wrong but I think that since Shakib started playing IPL his batting has gone downward

Mitchell Johnson didn't stop taking the game to India last test series.

The thing ofcourse is, that IPL gives a lot of money that no other tournament provides and to be a part of this tourney you have to be in Indis's good books.

Its good if you can learn from other great players. But if you are going to enjoy the parties, nightlife ,glitz and glamour then it becomes more like a summer vacation in India.

Not true. Per analysts, IPL has worked in favor of Indian batsmen. IPL has infact changed Indian batsmen's psychology and basically removed the fear of the RRR. The RRR of 12 RPO are no longer scary for them due to way T20 works. In T20, a simple tally line 2 balls and 12 runs is also doable and people think it as doable.

If our batsmen join IPL, it will only make them more competetive

It is highly unlikely that a few of our boys play in IPL. We need to resume BPL with better management.

Indian teams even if they did buy Bangladeshi players (other than Shakib) will probably humiliate them by putting them on the bench like they did with a then decent batsman Tamim

Passion does matter, it's all about professionalism in sports. Australian and Kiwi players are in IPL but they still give 100% while playing for their country..

And Mortaza. Didn't bring him on until the very last few games.

Rubel and Riyad are in top form; but buying Bangladeshi and Pakistani players goes against what IPL stands for... So they tend not to do it unfortunately for us.

I think improving BPL is our best bet, making it more competitive, throwing in more money, etc. Maybe if our players maintain their WC form (I am hopeful they will) they might get into Big Bash this season.

IPL improves ODI players, not make them worse.

And we shouldn't think of just future matches vs India but all future matches and our growth as a cricketing nation.

But like others said, probably only Shakib will play in the IPL. If a couple of others do get picked, they'll be condescending (what a group of people) and won't play them irrespective of whether they're good enough to play or not.

And this attitude has plagued our country and cricket. Let's look at ourselves, our players really haven't set the world alite. Shakib to an extent did, that's why he's there. Others really have records nowhere near compared to other international players. Theoretically, without a doubt there would have been quite a handful of Bangladeshi players if we went on to win the WC. But alas, we didn't. And that is why we will continue to be looked down, and not only from top teams, but even bottom teams would think they're equal with us. We really need a team that DELIVERSS. Not just jumping in the air and celebrating for individual centuries....Shakib is a total goner. I can see what IPL did to him. He provides more heart for KKR than for Bangladesh.
