Default Your favorite ICC umpires of all time

I know there is a lot of criticism regarding the quality of umpiring these days. two umpires that I always respect and admire:

Steve Bucknor, Billy Bowden*(he is still a fantastic umpire), and David Shepherd(ok, that's 3 umpires). other than these three, there aren't other umpires who haven't impressed me as much. Umpiring is a thankless job, it is probably one of the tougher jobs out there, as you have to be on the spot with your attentiveness to detail, match awareness, presence of mind etc... Not the easiest of job, which is why The three umpires i mentioned impress me even more.

that's the guy with big hat and glasses right? he used to give out by making the arm 90 degree. david shepherd used to hop after a team reached a certain score.

my vote goes for enamul hoq moni. he gives out based on the loudness of the appeal.

No one voted for Dicky Bird? :

Aleem Dar. Usually he is very good. People make mistakes.

It is still an enigma to me why Alim Dar acted the way he did. Remember, it was Dar who first called the na ball and Gould followed suit. My guess is that, pressure got to him. He was so worried about being scrutinized by the super power that he was overreacting to avoid that. I guess, a 3rd umpire call would still have been warranted. Nope, nothing explains it, I give up.

Anyway, what I was going to say is that, until that point, I used to consider him the best.

no doubt, Dicky Bird was the best.
India Srinivash Venkataraghaban was very good too.
Simon Taufel, Alem Daar and Dharmashena is also very good.

Worst: Very strong competition between Ashoka De Silva and Billy Bowden. Stev Bucnor was not far behind.
