Default So Mashrafe was right, Indians can't handle pressure - accepted by Dhoni and shown by Kohli

Well, Mashrafe was right. The 'captain cool' Dhoni himself confesses. Ofcourse, he isn't stupid enough to concede they were sh***ing in their pants against BD, or else again would have his house attacked by indians.

Kohli's dismissal and the top order's mediocrity against Aus was plain to see. Nothing else left to prove.

Simply put, if not for India's 12th and 13th players, Indians were crumbling under pressure too in March 19th, with little doubt that Tigers would've won the quarters. But not to worry, world and karma has a unique way of levelling off things. Next time, the script will be different.

We also crumbled under pressure against India. It can happen to anyone. Clarke's captaincy and usage of bowlers was phenomenal today. Australian fielding was very accurate (2 superb run outs). I hope NZ doesn't crumble to pressure against Aus though.

Kohli's average in KO matches is lower than danny morrison's career batting average. Kohli just cant handle pressure. A home track bully. India got exposed when they actually faced a better opponent. A mediocre team kept riding on dhoni's captaincy.

Actually India are good under pressure. How else do you explain winning WC 2011, going to WT20 final and winning 2013 CT

^^That was because of Dhoni. Dhoni can take pressure. Today, he was a little short, hence IN couldn't win the match. #It'sTheFact

True. Even Australia were under pressure losing 3 wickets after a solid start. It just matters how you climb out of it. India usually do make it out of it but last night they came up very short against a huge total + Clarke's captaincy + AUS team effort was spot on.

Dhoni din't contribute much in CT, WT20-2014 or knockouts in 2011 WC except the final ofcourse.

They have some crunch players like Dhawan and Kohli who likes the big stage. They couldnt do much today especially the latter. Doesn't take out the fact that India have been the best team in ICC tournaments in the last 4-5 years. If one disagrees then I don't have much to say but to urge him to watch some highlights.

The key for India is their fielding. Their fielding is almost always brilliant. Look at our lulloos, they misfielded, didn't hit the stumps regularly, overthrows in QF. Now that is bottling under pressure.

Batting second, the pressure of chasing over 270+ gets to most teams. Just in this world cup alone: SA vs Ind, Eng vs Aus, Pak vs Ind, Pak vs WI, WI vs SA, SL vs SA, WI vs NZ.

Then there were Aus vs NZ, SA vs Pak where even smaller totals were defended. So many examples.

Every team feels the pressure of chasing. Ask Elliott.

Bangladesh crumbled against Hong Kong and even Afghanistan. It's always difficult to handle pressure. India probably does it better than all the teams except Australia. Look at South Africa or England. These two are definitely the worst.

Those who live in glass houses should not be casting stones. If I had a guy who had scored a test 100 against the number 1 pace attack in a Test match walking out at #8 and a bowler who is rated in the top 10 batting for his "finishing" at #7, I'd be under pressure too. India got beaten by a stronger team. End of story. What they did against us isn't relevant except that on that day (QF) they were definitely the stronger team. Umpiring chorami nothwithstanding.

Every team has its ups and downs. The better team won that doesn't means India did not handle pressure well, if so we would have been out long ago.

In the previous world cup Australia was below par (they were rebuilding after so many of their legends reitiring). India is in rebuilding phase (many of our 2011 players either retired or not good enough now). We(Indian fans) would have been the most surprised if they have gone on to win WC.

Anyway better team won and we(Indian fans) moved on. Its time to pick a fav and look forward to the finals.
