@Eshen, it would make sense to let those that will be playing India in the test match play in the last round, its just 1-2 weeks before the India test match. Hope Liton can make a big century!

Completely agree, no need to go for all new bunches in test.

Kapali's international records are terrible...
His batting average in test is 17,50
And in ODI 20

I hope our U-19 players get opportunities to play. I know Shanto's managed to get a game and hoping other players play too. The more exposure they get ahead of the World Cup the better.

U19 going to South Africa tour soon.

That should be fun to see who will be the next hyped pacer from this batch.

Gazi average 30+ in fC with Sr of 86 and 5 century to his name. Scored consecutive century in last 2 games.

Bowling hasn't been great tho. He can be an ideal number 8 for us if he improves his bowling bit more without chucking...

All this placid wicket is giving us a wrong picture. False security. Everyone is scoring a double top nowadays.

^^Pitches were flat in domestics in past too, but how often had you seen double centuries before this season?

If nothing else, it shows our current crop of batsmen have better fitness, endurance, and longer span of concentration than previous crops.

Junaid, Nafees, Nayeem, Hom etc. are not current crops. All of a sudden, this year there is a flood of centuries and double centuries. The bowlers became crappier in year? The batmen just improved in one year?

My inclination would be the pitches became flatter in one year. Probability of this happening is higher than the other two. The run fest is unreal.

well you need bastman to making habits of runs, we had same pitches for ages. probably players are getting better scoring runs which is better sign. India has the same type of pitches just give the players to earn making runs and runs as habit.

Only option our board can do is that keep same type of wicket but yet prepare sporty wickets in different venue.

That indicates the pitches were more sporting before - which we know is largely not true. Pitches have always been flat in BD. Not a terrible idea since you want our players to first become competent at home (where we play 75% of our int'l fixtures). Why worry about a greentop when we will only play there once in 20 years?

More important is working on orthodox batting technique which leaves you suited for ALL conditions. Tendulkar and Dravid honed their games on these same sort of pitches and yet were suited for all conditions. Not everyone can be a SRT or RD, but you can work on your game and get a solid orthodox technique.

You won't see South Africans or New Zealanders clamoring for a few dustbowls so their players can tackle Indian conditions better. Williamson is a master of spin bowling on the green, swinging conditions of NZ.

Yes, we still need a wide variety of conditions across domestic venues, but discounting runs completely due to a flat pitch is not really fair. You still have to bat with discipline and mental application to score no matter how flat the pitch or how weak the bowling. You and I wouldn't even score 20 runs on these wickets. And we know sports is 90% mental...if they get in the habit of scoring big and consistent on flat pitches at home, they will have some degree of "success" in foreign conditions as well.

Alok Kapali is back with a bang! Wahoooo my fav BD player before from 2003-2007 I hope he returns to play again for BD International side. Career best, and has been a good form, bags of experience. Maybe wont be bad idea to try at Test, something he has not played for more than a decade. Cant to worse than Shuvagata. Plus has a hatrick at test against Pakistan.

Kapali needs to work on his leggie, if he can become pretty good at it in the test form, we can potentially have to leggies in the test side, one being more of batting allrounder+leggies and other gen.Leggie

The 100+ and 200+ indicates that the likes of Junaid, Kapali, Nafees, Naeem, Hom are better batsmen now than even last year? Are you kidding me? The whole lot got better in just one season? Who turned on the light bulb on these folks? Why couldn't they play like this last year?

Lets make a B team and beat the crap out of the national squad. nothing less than 600 run innings would do justice.

All those players hit centuries at NCL/BCL level before last year. Its not as if they just started scoring 50+ this year. Thats absurd.

Junaid and Naeem have test tons.

50+ and 150+ is not the same. Look at their averages between two seasons. It is the pitch and to some extent crappy bowling rather than bating improvement by leaps and bounds.

I agree about crappy bowling, but even that is measured. A relatively no name Shahid came out of that structure and held his own against a decent Pakistan side on fairly flat wickets.

Naeem is a test team discard and he has a test average of about 30. 10 years ago, our best test bats like Rajin and Ash were averaging 25. Now even 30 average can't make the team. Pitche quality is unchanged.

Years ago, on "sporting" pitches Ash made 263 and Raqibul 313. If pitches are flatter those scores should be threatened more often. 2006-07 season Ash, Raqibul, Jaharul all averaged over 80+ like the current crop.

Bottom line is BD never had sporting wickets. Wickets were always flat...uneeshh ar beesh difference that's it.

Our baseline batting is stronger. How many Tests did BD draw from 2000-2012? The answer is just once! And since 2013 we've already drawn 5. Pitch didn't dramatically change from 2010 to 2013.

Good post, some try to make all reasons and excuses just to undermine, underestimate that our batsmen in domestic has improved a lot. If we imagine 7-8 years back not many dare to say we had lots of tons among players but now players ate getting into habit of making runs which is always good sign which will build more competition among batsmen who could score more runs and topple others.

For teams outside subcontinent we should play with 3 spinners. In that case Gazi is really good option. I really hope he will improve his bowling. Easily he can take the position of hom at #8. On the other hand against subcontinental teams we should play with 3 pacers and Abdul is a good prospect for this post. Infact against India I want a 3pacer test attack and Abul at #8.
Any way how is the recent form of Gazi in bowling ?

In test team we need one off spinner. So far we have Gazi Hom Mahmudul Hasan and few more(don't know much about others). Probably Gazi is the best off spinner we have.

Comparing the percentage of winning the toss and bowl first with the opposite will give the idea about wicket of this year and the previous years. But so far as I know in an interview Sumon said that for last few years board is providing better wickets to the FC games. They are trying to provide a true wicket with bounce but earlier they provided low bounce track that were hard to bat on.

^^I am also starting to think BCB is getting away from preparing low-slow wickets. Shakib mentioned in his interview that you don't really have to be a skilled bowler in our domestics, those pitches with uneven bounce make life hard enough for batsmen. I guess that's changing now.

Well, time for the bowlers to develop some skills then.

Top FC keepers from the Best FC tournament in Bangladesh.
Zabid
Nurul Hasan
Irfan Sukkur
Hamidul Islam

Dhimam did not get a team in BCL indicates above 4are probably the best FC keepers other than Mushy. Probably Nurul Hasan is the competitor of Mushy in test cricket. Don't know how good Nurul is.But his FC career looks Good.
