Default Changes before UAE game

We have serious issues with our batting. The things i want addressed:
1. No more experimentation with batting order please.
Lets play the rest of the games in the batting positions we want during WC which means Kayes bats with Soumia at the top. We can move Shabbir or any jodu modu to open but what that does is it just destabilizes that cricketer if he fails.

Regardless of how much of a hack Mithun might be, it was unfair to send the young kid to open on a green wicket. The senior guys should have shown more balls and volunteered if Kayes was not the option.

2. Get Nasir Back. He brings good fielding at point and his bowling is useful too. He wont do much with the bat but still is an improvement over Mithun i think.

3. Sorting out the issues Shakib is having with the ball and bat. Where is our champion cricketer? What is happening to him.

4. Ask Soumia to forget about run rate and bat 20 overs. Soumya is a gifted player and if he bats 20 overs we will reach 160

Where does Mithun usually bat? Any ideas? I always thought he was a lower-order batsman

Lol he sure had a terrible BPL, and it also shows he's not a top-order batsman let alone an opener.

Just bring in Nasir in place of Mithun. Got Imrul to open. Shakib at 4, Mushfiq at 5, Riyad at 6, Nasir at 7.

I would keep the same 4 pace bowlers. Rony might have to wait. Only way he can get into the squad is if Taskin underpeforms. But Taskin did pretty well in last nights game. Had Shakib caught Rohit, he could have ended up with much better figures.

Taskin is very unlucky. He got catches dropped off his bowling in the WC too.

Is there any way we can get Bijoy into our squad.

This is the only guy along with Shabbir who actually knows how to play a T20 innings.

Don't think they gonna make any changes. Mithun and Kayes will cash in and flop against Pak and SL

you guys dont get it do you? It does not matter who gets dropped and who gets a go.... they are all the same. Our team as a unit is a very ordinary T20 side and it will remain so for years to come. You can go on all day about dropping Imrul or Mithun and bring in Anamul, Nasir or whoever. Truth is, Nasir never even in the most easiest conditions showed that he is a fit for the format. Anamul did show signs of a good T20 batsman but his failure in other formats ruined his confidence for good and he aint performing better then Imrul or Mithun anytime soon. Why is Tamim the best option despite his rather atrocious stats in the format? because his competitors arent even close to that. Same goes with players like Riyad, Mash even Mushy who has very ordinary stats in this format. But they just dont have competion....look at their competitors...

Riyad= Nasir, Hom, Alok... (1 cant even score in BPL, other is a domestic bully and the last one is inconsistent and expired according to selectors)

Mash= Zia, Mukhtar, Forhad, Abul..... yea lets not even start!

Mushy= Anamul, Liton... 1 selfish, 1 limited strokeplay

You guys can talk about squads all you want but from the current 20, There isnt anyone better waiting to shine. Its gonna be a cycle. We will win odd matches here and there and maybe even against big oppositions but it will come from a freak performance from the bowlers. Batting is gonna win us jack

Agree 💯. Even our bowling bro. Bengalis are mentally very weak. Taskin gets dropped... Him along with the rest of our bowling, loose their line and lengths.

No i think we "get it". Question is do you? Just because our team cannot match the fire power of India it doesnt mean we will not try to optimize the resources we have. It may not make a difference against India or Australia but against lesser teams such as Sri Lanka, getting the batting order right, might become the crucial difference between winning a game and losing. Our group is not going to make 200 but this group is good enough to make 150 consistently. As soon as we get the combinations and tactics right we can compete with the rest of the bottom ranked teams. We get that we have defficiencies in batting but we also understand we have to get through this tournament and at least beat Sri Lanka and UAE. People are suggesting ways under these difficult circumstances because doing nothing is not a solution.

Out- Imrul (I want to give mithun another chance, it is never right to drop someone after 1 game)
IN- AH Rony

We dont need 7 batsman.. If 6 cannot do it, neither can 7.

We struggled with the bat and you want to reduce a batsman!! that too the specialist opener? All because you really want to see Rony and his yorkers? I hope Rony doesnt dissappoint you bro

it was a pick between nasir and rony....
nasir hasnt done anything of note in batting lately, and he lost us a match with his bowling....
Also Imrul does not merit a position either. If you watched the game than you would know that he nearly got out couple of times because of his mishit, still managed only 10+ score with awful SR. I dont see why we need him...

I dont see any logic behind your suggestion. If you want Rony, you get him in by replacing a bowler. What you are proposing is like trying to fix lack of scoring goals by reducing a striker and replacing him with a defender. If the batting is weak you strengthen the batting. If the bowling is weak you strengthen the bowling. Having an extra bowler means we have an even longer tail and we put further pressure on our out of form batters. Shakib and Soumia is out of form, leaving Imrul out would mean the only decent batsman (shabbir) will get exposed to the new ball. If he goes cheaply we wont reach 100 runs.

We know our weakness is Mithun, Imrul and to an extent Alamin (he did well last match but trust me he is going to be targetted soon and lose his place anyways). Let's focus on the batting, we do have Nasir and Nurul sitting, in my eyes they both are more suited than these 2 players any day. Question is why can't we move the batting order? Sure we want to let Shabbir bat at 3, Mushy or Shakib to come in at 4/5 with Mahmudullah, but why can't we try Nurul in the opening? A lot of keepers have opened for their teams in the past and Nurul has a good technique and a fearless attitude. Why do we have to be so rigid? If he gets going we can reach any target.

The problem I had with the first team even before it played (I am a big suppporter of Rony, Nasir if you look through my posts you will surely find it, so not swayed by the recent results) that it lacked abilities. Imrul never had any striking ability. Mithun never performed in the big matches. His average is 0.5 in 3 T20s, not even a 10. If Nurul scores 1 run he is twice a better player than Mithun in his whole career thats how pathetic Mithun is.

I have no issues with strengthening the batting with whichever player. I want the guys that will play the WC get settled in their respective positions. Imrul wont play WC so i dont care if he bats 1 or or 11. Imrul is important in the context of this tournament because we dont have other specialist openers and if imrul plays, he is only useful to us if he opens. Playing the new ball is harder than batting in the middle order. We cant just pull one guy out and expect him to perform as an opener. Otherwise Inzamam, Ponting Lara all would open because they are tremendous players.

Question is who's going to open if Kayes gets dropped? Mithun the poor guy isn't even an opener and he's sent in as a sacrificial lamb against the moving ball, he's bound to fail and then ultimately discarded. Also don't really fancy seeing Sabbir facing the new ball when its seaming, doubt he has the experience to handle that and losing him cheaply will be a blow as he's our best bat. At least Sarkar and Mithun lasted a few overs negotiating the early movement before Sabbir came.

Sorry guys, I hate to blow my own trumpet and sound like I told ya so... But this is funny coz a lot of my predictions did come true... The only exception was Rony will bowl better than Alamin and eventhough we have lost the match and Alamin did take 3 wickets he did go for 9 runs per over and you never know how Rony would have done right... Take a look at my previous posts :P

Don't wanna say "I told you so" but here are a couple of ma posts that I digged up myself... you can read it with a pinch of salt..

Quote:
I feel Mustafizur won't be as effective this series as Rony or Taskin.
We can always come back to this comment to see how wrong or right I was.
Mustafizur went for 40 runs in 4 overs in the first game. The other bowlers didn't support him well and was not used properly by mash as well.

Quote:
Mirpur pitch will be a letdown later down the series, but towards the beginning batting should be good, so win the toss and definitely bat
Both matches in Mirpur were won by teams that batted first!

Quote:
In opening, Mithun will fail anyways but Imrul is and will never a choice for T20s. Doesn't matter what he does in BPLs. International T20s are different.
Quote:
well doesn't matter who you take in Imrul/Mithun both will fail miserably. Both are just aint good enuff, but Mithun sort of wins as he provides that right/left combo and is a better hitter on his day.
Both Imrul and Kayes failed major majorly

Can I please have an oracle tag with me please? Moderators? It's about time you know

I dont see how any of your predictions are correct.

Mustafizur was not utilized by Mash properly. He chose to leave him for the death overs as if the kid is Malinga or something. Mustafizur needed to bowl early when the ball was seaming and not getting wet because of dew. India would have destroyed any bowler with wickets in hand and 5 overs to go.

Win the toss and bat? On that green wicket it would have been 78 all out for us.

Predicting imrul and mithun would fail was as hard as predicting the sun would rise tomorrow.

You need to work harder for the oracle title.

I also predicted we will lose if we bat first against the Windies and we will be 50/3 in 18 overs (we were 52/3 in 12). No-one ever can't be 100% right, but look how close I got

I am willing to give you assistant oracle title for 12 months probationary period. Predict how many runs UAE will score today and then we can talk.
