Default BD's Semifinal chances in World Cup T20

I know this is bit early however as a runner up in asia cup this a logical prediction that Bangladesh should do well in India. It won't be easy though but i believe that we have potential to play in semi.

What are you guys thinking on this?

We have the potential to play the final even but let's qualify for the main even first. Anything can happen in T20 especially when you play associates.

Most likely not,its a hard truth lets face the music. We cannot backup our bowlers against sides such as kiwi, proteas, aus and the men in blue we will most likely wont qualify to the quarter. We need a new opener since souyma wont cut

Most ironically u guys are forgeting nasir who has tons of expierence.

They always do well in big tournaments so likely they will do well again.

Other group would have been alot easier. WI, SL and England...

I'll back us against NZ and Pakistan...

Other group is so easy, we would beat england sl and WI.

I'd only really put india aus and South africa as clear cut favourites against us.

We have the toughest groups I have ever seen right from qualifiers. Qualification into the main tournament and a Win against Pakistan is the best we can hope for

If we qualify (I pray to God we do), than we are definitely in the tougher group. I wish we can get Guptill early vs New Zealand otherwise its game over in 6 overs. Australia and Indian batting is too good... Pakistan is a realistic chance to win.

New Zealand could be another realistic target, they always have a soft spot for us for some reason even though they are in great form for last few years. Australia and India have too much firepower

Bangladesh have good chance against Nz Sa Aus Pk. Nz and Aus yet to meet Mustafizur. Sa have and know what he can do. Pak met him once and he rattled them well.
On SC condition I fancy BD to have better chance to beat NZ, SA, AUS with Mustafizur in the side. We would need to bat well though. So Soumya and Tamim need to give the team good starts. Need big innings from one of the openers.

NadStar, Australia are ranked 8th in T20 and you are saying they are too strong??
They even cancelled to tour Bangladesh to avoid defeat!!

NZ? What NZ? The team whom we Banglawashed twice?? Ok!

If you can post more than 150 against Aus, we have a good chance. They seem to have a poor record of chasing in t20s, and in these conditions it might even be harder for them

We are #10. That is the truth.

May be punching over our weight, may be have improved a bit but at the end of the day it is what it is.

Some of us act like top 5. The matches will be in foreign soil. The difference between the teams are not that much in this format. Few crazy nicks in couple of overs, swinging at everything and connecting some; can change the game.

Nothing wrong with the thread content. Just the timing. These type of threads should come after we qualify for the main event. My 2 cents.

Bit strange ! So many cricket pundits here are little bit skeptic re our chances in qualify round.. WHY? After all the success since the WC still we don't have confidence on our team. This is actually bit odd. I know this is the shortest format and one bad day can spoil the party however bd is a very competitive team and can beat the best. So keep the faith.

Star sports is already thinking big about us .

Lets first beat the associates first guys. It will be really hard to endure after doing all these predictions and assumptions of beating Pakistan and NZ and BD fail to qualify.

Side note - Aus is a 8 ranked t20 team though...
