Tushar fined, officials pulled out
Tushar Imran, the skipper of Grmeenphone, has been fined Tk 10,000 for misbehaving with two officials during the match between GrameenPhone and Partex in the Corporate Cricket League on Monday. The two officials – venue manager Omar Faroque and match manager Abid Abbas Kishan – also have been pulled out from their duties for their involvement in the untoward incident.
Eye witnesses said, Abid Abbas was the first to rebuke Tushar for sitting in front of the umpire’s room. As the room is situated in between the two dressing rooms, Tushar claimed it was his privilege to sit there and there was nothing wrong in it.
Venue manger Omar Faruque later interfered. Few other GrameenPhone players later joined their skipper only to make the matter worse, which was the first of its kind in the Corporate Cricket League.
Following a written complaint by the match and the venue managers, match referee Rafiqul Alam called Tushar for hearing after the match. According to the sources, Tushar admitted his guilt and avoided harsh punishment.
According to the insiders, Tushar could have been suspended for three matches and fined Tk 2,500 had he not admitted the fault. Meanwhile, after verbal complaint from GrameenPhone coach Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury, the organising committee of the Corporate Cricket League, has pulled out both the officials, who failed to respect the dignity of a player.

Tushar fined
Sports Reporter
GrameenPhone captain Tushar Imran was fined Tk 10,000 for arguing with two tournament officials during the opening Cup match of the Corporate Cricket League (CCL) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
While Tushar escaped with a fine the two CCL officials -- venue manager Abid Abbas Kishan and match manager Omar Farooq -- were suspended for the rest of the tournament on recommendation of match referee Rafiqul Islam.
Tushar was locked in a row with a temperamental Farooq, who was insisting the player return to the dressing room instead of standing on the balcony.
"I was not present during the incident but I was informed that the match manager threatened Tushar to push him off the balcony. So, I reported the incident to the match referee," said GrameenPhone coach Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury.
Both Tushar and Farooq were summoned by the match referee for a hearing, where Tushar apologised for his misconduct.
Match referee Rafique recommended imposing a fine of Tk 2,500 and a three-match ban on Tushar but the CCL committee, considering his importance for the team, decided against banning the player and instead increase the fine.
But Farooq, who is widely known for being an arrogant character, finally faced the music. He had earlier reportedly misbehaved with another national discard Ehsanul Haq during a first-phase match.
Kishan also fell into hot water for his part in the incident.

Bunch a buira beta's fighting over such a small issue...so what if he did sit in front of the umpire's room? he could've been approached more politely...and why did Tushar have to react so violently either? Couldn't he have just moved away?
