He is telling the truth. However, there's only one way he can shut up the critics- by performing.

With an FC batting average of 40 and bowling average around 30 he was selected on merit

He has no control over his line-n-length , otherwise he can actually spin the ball. I don't see him getting picked up for Test series in NZ as he is the forth spinner in the pecking order (Sakib, Miraz, Taijul, then Hom/Tanvir). Tanvir Haider has a better chance to get selected as third spinner.

What I really understand is why our selectors picked up 4 specialist spinner with 5 pace bowlers for the NZ series. I reckon 3 specialist spinner + 6 pace bowler would have given us the right balance.

I watched his bowling. It's kind of a spray ... he has no plans around anything. His batting is relatively better, I believe he could do better in NZ.

Advice from my side - perform or perish.

He is absolutely right. It is not his fault that he got selected. The selectors should receive some serious heat from fans for the selection

True, if you can't perform get out of the team then.

you missed the entire point. He cannot get out of the team if he keeps getting selected. What do you want him to do? go to the forest in self exile?

definitely not his fault. I have been very vocal about his selection but cant blame him! His selection were wrong in the first place but also he wasnt even used properly!

Our team right now is too good and that is why we are winning even with 9 proper players and a dumbass captain. Wins are simply hiding our selection errors and if we keep doing this we will ultimately lose games from a winning position against stronger teams

The games we are winning, 1-2 players are winning them single handedly. 2nd Odi, It was all Mash and Riyad.

2nd test, It was all Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Thats the difference between a top team and lower ranked team. And Miraz isnt always gonna take 19 wickets every series. Just imagine what wouldve happened if he wasnt there!

Our seam attack looks non existent without 1 guy that debut last year! That tells u a lot!

Oh, it is absolutely not his fault. Hell, he is kind of okay ( I even rate his bowling more than others here). Problem is for a team like Bd, we need to have the perfect XI to not just have the ability but the confidence to beat other teams. So it is just puzzling how Al Amin and Nasir can be dropped, and kind of okay guys like Should'veGota Home are selected.

If Bd is not able to phase guys like CONfiqur and Hom out, then the team is in serious serious trouble down the line. And I'm talking about 1st round exit in the champions trophy.

He is primarily is and always was a Batsmen. his off spin is anything but bonus(gets decent turn sometimes but that's about it ). If he keeps batting like he did in the 2nd Test against England in challenging conditions, I do see a future for him. It's not his fault that selectors keep selecting him and he has been persisted with for a long time now for about 2 years. If we drop him now, then all these previous tests for which he was selected would be completely meaningless. Selectors, Coach see genuine potential in him then let him really prove his worth by batting up the order for another series. One of Riyad/Shakib/Rahim can be dropped to lower order to accommodate him because let's face it none of them really batted that responsibly in the England tests

Isn't it interesting how Hom and Nasir debuted in the same match against Zimbabwe and while the latter's fortunes took off immediately and has now faded, the former wasn't remotely as spectacular but is still in the frame.

^^ Hom wasn't given an extended run in the ODI team...his ODI debut scores didn't really set the world on fire(Bangladeshi debutants always set the world on fire ), but he didn't do terrible with the bat either. I think now it's kinda too late to include him in ODI team(too much competition) but in Tests he has been persisted with for a while by Coach, Team Management, Captain, Selectors etc...which indicates they see something in him that rest of us don't...

^^ Hom is the latest version of Tushar Imran - does better in practice matches than real matches, that's why we don't see what coaches see in him.

All I could see is a spray gun averaging more than 61 in test matches bowling in helpful sub-continent condition ! I guess we need to redefine the word "sub-standard" !

He sure ain't using his hands to hold the bat or ball either.

He would be lot less disliked if he could score that one ****ing run to get that historic win vs India. But if he did, we would've have the most ultimate Hom moment of all time.

This.
But Nasir hasn't really faded. He's still would be more effective than Hom, if, only If, he was getting the SS treatment to get his forum back. Too bad he probably played his card wrong somewhere to earn that sort of favoritism.
