Default NZ TOUR Disaster: What went wrong & what could have done better?

With heavy heart I cant see any more of these pathetic loses.
Just wonder what could have done better. Here is the list
1. Wrong selection
2. Wrong players in wrong format
3. Senior players failed big time
4. Not bringing top performers of BPL
5. Poor batting coach
6. Faith on off form player
7. 22 man squad was a joke
8. Average captaincy
9. Softer approach and not kill em all mentality. Lack of aggressiveness etc.

All points ok. But i think we are ignoring "New Zealand in New Zealand" factor.

Last year they steamrolled over Pakistan/Sri Lanka. Only Pakistan beat them in one T20.

Play this in Bangladesh, results will reverse or go our way. We are not ready for to succeed in away tours.

Mushfiqur's injury has played a big role. Clearly our best batsman.

Srilanka won One oneday

this is the same venue where we failed to chase 251. Last 6 matches in that venue all were won by sides batting 2nd

I think the team took a hit after mushy's injury. Our batting revolves around him. Sure, the openers can play flashy innings and give good starts but they dont hang till the end. Mushy guides the innings. With nurul, mosaddek, riyad all failing there was no chance in chasing 251.

Plus the belief wasnt there. The whole team showcased that it was a monumental task to beat nz.

In wc 2015, they had the belief that could beat nz, eng. idk, wat happened here. Mayb selection played a role. Has to b something inside.

My bad. I just looked at 2016. But still you ll see how strong they are at home. Most are expecting to see the NZ that we whitewashed twice.

Now all of a sudden Mushy becomes the man we lost badly

Guys. Let's get over it. Bangladesh is ranked below Afghanistan in t20s for a big reason. The freaking captain who am a fan of, doesn't even takes t20 serious - says it all!!!

Nz has a factory of good fast bowlers. Decent spinners. Very capable batsman. Very witty captain who understands the game, conditions, opponents strengths and weaknesses.

They need to get rid of players like ronchi and tom bruce. Tom latham should b in t20.

1. Guptill
2. Latham
3. Munro
4. Broome/ ross taylor
5. Williamson
6. Neesham
7. Anderson
8. Some wk other den ronchi
9. Lockie Ferguson/ mark henry
10. Santner
11. Boult/ wheeler/ southee

Man thats some squad!

We didnt lose because mushy got injured but it played a big role. You perhaps saw how he performed in the last world cup in these conditions. He can keep the batting together by bringing stability. In t20, rangkings dont mean much and i dont think afg can play that well against nz in nz.

We were outplayed because of our collective stupidity in batting department. Cricket buddhir khela and our players are just not intelligent enough.

Two of our biggest performers in the BPL have been playing, they are our most senior players and if they failed what can you expect of the others?

Ustad (Sakib) koise "don't depend too much on senior players...."

Senior players are there in the team to do ustadi....the newer players are there to the dirty work.

Experience outside of Bangladesh is another factor. Lots of wickets were pure giveaways - yesterday there were at least 3 batsmen who fell to awful shot selection resulting in dollies.

This tour has so far been a real painful one to watch from a BD supporter standpoint.

My two cents:

I am a big believer of "Average". In a nutshell, We have only couple of players who are consistent enough to compete in the International level.

NZ tour showed our average picture, where we really stand. This is not something new that we collapse every now and then in Batting or get whacked when bowling. We have seen these many times in last 10 years or so.

So why was our expectation so high in NZ tour? We thought we played well since world cup? You will notice we sucked big time before 2015 world cup. Lets look at our ODI performance since 2011.
From 2011 world cup till just before 2015 world cup
We lost all the series accept West Indies and New Zealand in our own turf. We all know how weak they are in south asian pitches. During those time we lost both series in Zimbabwe.

2015 World cup we beat England - they were in poor form and we won it last minute
2015 win against Pakistan - lots of new faces in Pakistan team
2015 win against India - Mustafiz factor
2015 win against South Africa - weak in spinning wicket

In my opinion we can only win in our turf along with some luck. My verdict for 2017
India Test - loose by innings
SL tour - may be 1 ODI win - SL new lads are better than our oldies in terms of consistency, beside they are playing on their turf
Ireland-NZ tri series - will only win 1 game against Ireland.
Champions Trophy - will lose all
Pak series @ home - 1 win in ODI will lose rest of the matches
Aus series - will lose both tests with small margin
SA tour - will lose all the games

so how can we win overseas and become almost unbeatable at home? - we need better consistent players. Need better coaches and tons of games at age and A level in sporting pitches.
Need lots of U19 and A team tour overseas - only pick the players who average 40+ in batting and below 27 in bowling after playing minimum 10 games.

Fist of all, we need to select the team properly and fairly -> lack of fairness in team selection is hurting the team spirit dearly IMHO.

Also, if you select Imu for all three formats, you pay the price for biasness and unfairness in selection process for leaving out Maruf or who ever is better suited for that specific format, i.e., T20 and so on ...

If mosaddek ali and nurul mia are grafters then why dont they bat before sabbir and riyad uddin. So far i hv seen nurul dont gift his wickets. So let mosaddek ali nd nuru mia play in the middle and let and sabbir and riyad do powerhitting in the end. This is what has been big disaster. The batting order.
