Default The Test XI - What is the perfect combination?

Here is my test XI:

1. Tamim Iqbal
2. Soumya Sarkar
3. Liton Das
4. Mominul Haque
5. Mushfiqur Rahim
6. Mosaddek Hossain
7. Shakib Al Hasan
8. Mehedi Hasan Miraz
9. Taijul Islam
10. Taskin Ahmed
11. Mustafizur Rahman

Taskin can be replaced with other pacers, not a solid pacer in XI.

What's your test combination?

Something similar though I'd like to see sabbir with some more chances to see how he really is in this format. But that'd mean leaving mosaddek out for a bit longer.

Based on current form, I would drop Mominul for now. Mominul can come back in future.

1. Tamim Iqbal
2. Soumya Sarkar
3. Mushfiqur Rahim
4. Liton Das
5. Sabbir
6. Mosaddek Hossain
7. Shakib Al Hasan
8. Mehedi Hasan Miraz
9. Taijul Islam/Kamrul Islam (based on wicket)
10. Taskin Ahmed
11. Mustafizur Rahman

All combinationa look good if they play well....

By the way it will be tough for liton to play at 3 after keeping wickets

You guys are aware a keeper can't bat in top 4 without getting injured regularly right?

Unless you want mushfiq back with the gloves...

My test XI

Tamim
Soumya
Mushfiqur
Imrul
Sabbir
Liton
Shakib
Mehdi
Kamrul/Taijul
Taskin
Mustafizur

Our best test batsmen would be best utilised at 3. Mushy was still batting with the tail at 4 which is simply not on. It also prevents the 1 comes 2 wickets problem we have at the moment with mominul proving to be a walking wicket.

True keeping and batting top order isn't the norm but he's done it his entire FC career and he hasn't really been injury prone so it would seem he can handle it. Imo it's more about whether he can handle the role of opening bat, I.e. Batting against the fresh cherry at the test level.

True. Would the result have been hugely different if Mosaddek played intead of Ryad and Taijul for Subashis? I don't think so. The whole team play like crap. One or two individuals won't make much difference.

Liton actually opened the batting for East Zone and kept wickets.

I think its just a myth that a WK gets injured often if he opens the batting.

Who's the keeper? And if it's LKD, Number bit too high for a keeper at test, unless batting first.

Litton.
In that case put him in #6 and promote mossadek at #4. I have seen enough of Sakib, unless he play according to the team's need, he can play at #7 and can play his so called natural game.

True . But still you need to address one at a time. Need to stop free rides. No point wasting time on old plyers like Riyad. It's time to try new options.... even it fails to get positive result right away.... at least if it shows some hope... we will be in the right direction. Right now we are doing the same thing and hopping for different result... it's not going to happen.

I want 3 changes from the first test team.

Imrul replacing Mominul
Mosaddek replacing Riad
Taijul replacing Taskin.

Taskin to face the chop rather than Roy because of fitness issue. Having two injury-prone pacers to carry the whole pace bowling load will be too much. Hence Taskin to step down.

Tamim
Imrul
Soumya
Mushfiq
Mosaddek
Shakib
Liton
Miraz
Taijul
Taskin
Roy

I would rest Fizz from the match, plenty of matches for him to come in LOIs, in this series, Ireland tour, and in CT.

Momin is looking hopeless at this point, no point continuing with him. He needs to come home and work on playing spin.

Tamim-Imrul partnership should be restored by default. Soumya should be rewarded for his recent form, in place of Momin.

It's time to hand debut to Mosaddek, one of our best players against spin.

You can't drop a genuine quick.

For me, drop Riyad - bring in Mosaddek.

Swap Mushfiq and Mominul. Mominul had all his success at #4 and should never have gone to #3.

I just want batsman who are willing to stick around the crease. I think I am asking for too much.

1. Soumya Sarkar
2. Imrul Kayes
3. Shahriar Nafees
4. Naeem Islam
5. Mushfiqur Rahim
6. Liton Das (WK)
7. Mehedi Hasan
8. Shakib al Hasan
9. Taskin Ahmed
10. Shubashis Roy
11. Mustafizur Rahman

But obviously my lineup wont happen so I have to go with something like this lineup.

1. Tamim Iqbal
2. Imrul Kayes
3. Soumya Sarkar
4. Mominul Haque
5. Mushfiqur Rahim
6. Shakib al Hasan
7. Liton Das (WK)
8. Mehedi Hasan
9. Taskin Ahmed
10. Shubashis Roy
11. Mustafizur Rahman

It's not, its common sense and no bs club level first class games don't equate to tests

Drop Riyad, Roy and bring Sabbir, Taijul. If it were upto me, I would have dropped Soumya too. Even though he is getting a few fifties in tests, his batting is not test batting whatsoever. Give Mominul another chance.

I don't think anyone hates him. Why would?

He clearly has developed some technical problem with footwork against spin bowling. Let him work hard to fix it and come back again.

We have other inform batsmen who deserve few chances.

What's your test combination?
first of all need to change the players mindset, otherwise dont play test

riads time is up, so take mosaddek instead. taijul should play too. rabbi might replace either musta or taskin. we need fit mustafiz in ODI and taskin too. or may be rest both pacer
