Default PCB may ask for compensation before touring Bangladesh

IMO, we have put up with this bs from PCB long enough. They are too arrogant to invite us to Dubai, like they offer other teams, but want us to compensate for not touring?!!!

It's time BCB tells them to shove the series where ever they want and invite some other team to tour July-August.

Quote:
Talking to newsmen on Monday, the chairman said, “We want to host Bangladesh but its chances are not bright. As we already toured Bangladesh in 2015 and they did not turn up in Pakistan in return [on security grounds], we may ask them to compensate us financially if they want us to tour them again in July-August this year.”

The PCB does not want to host Bangladesh in the UAE because of the latter’s unattractive market value due to which the PCB had to suffer from financial loss.

There you go BCB, NZ looking for a tour -

Test match dearth looming for Black Caps after recently packed red-ball schedule

New Zealand's next assignment is May's one-day tri series against Ireland and Bangladesh in Dublin, which precedes the Champions Trophy tournament in England - and following that there is no international cricket for them of any sort until the first of two inbound tours next summer.

NZ needs some lessons. Bring them in. Put some matches in Khulna. Mini needs someone to spank.

Let's see what Wagner can do.

One way or the other, this bullying has to stop. PCB won't dare asking any other board for compensation like this. But since Papon made the mistake last time to offer them compensation, they want to milk him again.

I would rather watch A-team matches against some associate country in the time slot (in prep for Aus series), instead of giving into PCB's bullying once again.

Yea cancel the tour please and thank you. We will get those crowds and sponsors even if we host Zimbabwe for a full series. We dont need to play against Pakistan. PCB bullying BCB is like Ukraine bullying Russia.... BCB must be LOLing right now

PCB deserves compensation. I think we should accept their demand and give them like a thousand dollars.

TE bhai can fund most of it. I can give around $5.

As i and T_E are discussing in the other thread, PCB is not that dumb, they are staging this drama for good reasons. Either they get to milk Papon again for $200K-$300K, or they get to break away from commitment to play us in July.

With the cut off date to auto qualify for the WC at end of August, playing us again at our turf will only hurt their chance. As opposed to that, they can target NZ, who are the cow to be milked for rating points at subcontinental condition, for a series at UAE. It happens that NZ is also free during this period.

BCB need to act fast and reach out to NZ before PCB make the move.

PCB wants to have the cake and eat it too, BD should put them in their rightful place, BCB did a big mistake paying them the first time, they will keep playing the broken record now and all BCB has to do is ignore.

Now that PCB no longer care to maintain a good relationship with BCB, we should not only refuse to pay them again, BCB should also threaten to sue them for damages if they pull out of the tour.

BCB now have a strong argument that we already compensated PCB once, unlike other boards. Also, unlike other teams, PCB never invited us to play at UAE.

Instead of showing any weakness to compromise, it's high time Papon khaluji makes counter threats.

NZ will murder them in LOIs even in UAE.

^^ NZ in subcontinent in last five years -

New Zealand 2012-2016 20 6 12 0 2 0.500 29.14 5.28 19 307 79

They have way better chance against NZ than against us at our home. You may argue NZ won the last ODI series in UAE 3-2. Given the rating difference between NZ and PAK, even another 2-3 defeat will help Pak gain rating point(s).

Technically the BD tour for PAK is in the FTP if am not mistaken. If they pull out, can't we just sue them back like when we had to pay them a compensation fee for not touring their country? They themselves schedule this 2 T20 and then sends us an invite and when the answer is no, ask for money in return. What is this dowry propaganda LMAO

^^ Assuming BCB-PCB already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for July series, I believe we have a strong case to sue them this time.

Last time, they had the case that Lotus made a promise that Papon broke. We already compensated them for that broken promise. Can't see how they can use that against us again.

This time -

a) there is no per-existing promise/MoU to tour Pakistan
b) PCB have not offered to host us in UAE like they offer other teams

This is our turn now to make the PCB chairman to either eat his own words (withdraw the threat of not touring) or pay for breaking an agreement.

Idiots if ever to learn from mistake, learn in a hard way, PCB that is in this case. They will sit with Papon in April and will start 'Brother Talking'. And this time I wish Papon escort them to the door in a polite brotherly manner.

In campions trophy we have to play against NZ, and prior to that in a tri-series in Ireland. May not be a good idea playing too many games against them. How about inviting SL? are they free in that time?

FTP is not legally binding.

^^ That's why boards now sign MoU's well advance of scheduled tours. I will be very surprised if BCB-PCB already have not signed one with this series only months away.

I think PCB and BCB should cooperate each other for doing a successful series with these two countries.

BCB’s media and communications committee chairman Jalal Younus confirmed that they have turned down the PCB’s proposal owing to security concerns and that they have not agreed with the compensation proposal either.

“We had a BCB security team visit Pakistan during the final of the PSL T20 last month. The reports were not satisfactory enough due to which we had to pull back. Even the ICC had a fact finding team visit the country and did not see any development as of yet,” Jalal told Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.

Jalal said BCB would have no problems if the proposed T20I series is held at a neutral venue. He also informed that the PCB has no grounds to ask for compensation.

In April, 2015, the BCB paid $300,000 to the PCB for missing two tours to Pakistan in 2012.

A lot of time the compensation is so small the boards just give it away to keep the relationships good. Also, till 2014, FTP was legally binding, but after Srini era coup, it's no longer binding (2014-2023).

Pakistan and PCB is now so cornered that I see they are getting more stubborn on this. I see they are preparing a legal case against BCCI for refusing to tour them as per a MoU. I will be interested to see how that goes.
