Default Is Saifuddin our Stokes?

There are striking similarities,

1) bowls right arm medium fast around the same speed range
2) bats left handed and stance is almost similar
3) brilliant fielder
4) last but not the least both of their names start with 'S'

He's not a ginger.
No autobiography yet.
Yet to concede 4 sixes in a row.

One of the best cricketers ever to come out of greater Noakhali-Comilla combined. Still not good enough for the national team.

Have u seen stokes stats in tests? Mashrafes injury riddled career hasn't been that great. If u Wana include stuff like captaincy, then it's not fair to stokes and those stuff is not easily measurable, very subjective

A single tailender wicket in 2 matches + 1 four is not enough to start comparing him or judging him on his ability. Let him get about 10-15 int matches before making any such claims.

Enamul Haque Moni was a great cricketer from Comilla. Ashraful is originally from B. Baria. He family was settled in Dhaka though.

No need to compare with Stokes, but i feel we ve finally gotten our pace bowling all rounder.

He could replace Mash in both T20 and ODI as a third seamer and hard hitting lower end batsman. His fielding is very impressive too-better than a typical pace bowler.

And unlike the Forhad Reza's and Mushfiqur Rahmans, this guy is very well built.

I d be happy if we can contribute to BD like Thisira Perera does for SL.

We haven't seen his hitting capabilities. I am hoping he can hit some big sixes, a BPL tournament where he bats at number 5/6 will do wonders to his confidence and will pay high dividends for Bangladesh.

I was talking about odis as mashrafe barely played a test match, and stats, please not a single fast bowler from the sub continent gets a favourable view from stats alone

There is no reason to compare Stokes and Mashrafi. They are cricketers from different generations and products of highly different cricketing infrastructures. Mashrafi is close to the heart of all true fans of Bangladesh Cricket for reasons that go beyond his achievements as a player and his stats. There is only one troll in BC who is constantly degrading Mash in every thread but other than that everyone else do respect him and love him as a cricketer.

He is a real life hero for his spirit, patriotism, passion and courage. Any other bowler with his injuries would have retired long time back. Lets not degrade somebody who epitomizes everything great about the tigers with arguments over formats, economy rates and averages etc. It doesn't matter. He will be great in the eyes of tiger fans regardless.

Hopefully, Saifuddin has enough potential to turn out to be a decent international allrounder if he works hard, stays focused, motivated and improves with time.

Btw, he didn't bowl any yorkers in that last match. I thought he was a good proponent of that art.

Other similarities are there too. Like...
1) both are cricketers.
2) both are men.
3) both plays for their national teams.
....

He was trying too many things. He has 3 differnt slowers now. Off cutter, leg cutter and back of the hand. In BPL he only had yorker and thats it. Shows that he worked really hard to earn the call. He will learn how to use his skills with time. Need to keep him with the national team. Plus, he is not a hitter, he is a proper batsman who can hit

Stokes bowls in the mid140ks whilst Saif is around low-mid 130ks. That's not to say Saif won't put on a yard of pace as he continues to develop physically and technically.

One thing they do have in common is that they both look like gutsy no nonsense players who play the game with a lot of heart and aggression with no care about stats and averages.

Early days for Saif but I like what I see.

To me Stokes is a nobody. A bully who didn't have mommy's love as a child. I hope and pray no Bangladeshi becomes a stokes let alone a player. Total opposite of a role model.
