Default Bangladesh Squad for Champ Trophy - Shafiul Islam is back

Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Sunzamul Islam, Mehedi Hasan, Shafiul Islam

++++++
GD choose that. Shafiul can swing the ball and will be useful in these conditions

Yes, good squad. Though it was predictable. I want to see rotation of the pacers in the Tri-series. Different combinations can be used for the other 3, apart from Mashrafe. Shafiul, Rubel even Subashis can be tried.

The first player that came to my mind was Shafiul Islam.

But I didn't have the confidence to utter his name as one of our five pacers, why?

I tentatively went to his profile out of excitement, thinking he must have phenomenal numbers in England.

BUT: In 3 match in England - 4 wickets (Average of 45 and Economy of 7.70)

I didn't utter his name at BC anymore. Good luck to him.

Don't know why Shafiul is in the pot. Otherwise main players in the squad.

Shafiul is a good back up to have in England condition. My question is Sanzamul. What did he do to be in Champions trophy squad?

Still sticking with riyad, don't know why shafiul is back, he's been touted as a swing bowler but can't say I've ever seen him swing it much.

Shafiul over Rubel Roy Al amin is baffling

Shafiul can't bowl 2 good spells in a match

No nasir hossain either in the team

I'd go with

Tamim
Sarkar
Imrul
Mushfiq
Shakib
Mossadek/Ullah
Sabbir
Mehedi
Mashrafe
Taskin
Mustafizur

Imrul at 3 is a must, to enable sabbir to go hard down the order, it'll be a disaster if sabbir can't finish for us

Someone explain me why Roy is not there

And we needed a backup middle order batsman in case Sabbir / Riad fails

Because we need at least one dudhvaat player per series and Shafiul fits the bill perfectly

Unless Mushfiqur bats at #3 Bangladesh will lose all the matches. Ideally, the line-up should be Tamim, Sarker, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Shakib, Shabbir, Mosaddek, Mashrafe...

So in the practice game and Ireland tour we are having three extra players (Underlined). Will these three remain with the team and BCB just pays the cost? ICC will only fund certain # of players for these tournaments.

I don't think we can switch players unless there is an injury.

Nasir will not get a chance even to play in the practice match if we have learned anything from the previous tour. That is how we ensure Riyad's place.

As an allrounder?

I am happy that Nasir is back in the squad. Hope he gets more playing time though.
