Default How serious should we be in the next warm up vs India?

Mash wasn't serious at all in the last warm up and it looks like we paid heavily because of that. We could use 15 players and we used 11 for batting, gave rest to Shabbir and only used Imrul (No Sohan as well). In bowling we didn't use Rubel or Fizz and I think we all expected that, we shouldn't have to use them if we score such a score (eventhough the boundaries were really small). Apart from the fact that we need some changes for our own good in the long term, I feel that we need to go all gun blazing before the main tournament starts. Whether we use our full squad or not is a question, whether we use Fizz or not is another question, or even Rubel. I can understand if fast bowlers need to be fresh before the start of the main tourney, but do batsmen need rest as well?

On one hand this is just a warmup but on the other, winning a match before the CT will do us a world of good and a major confidence booster. It is a catch 22 really, so what should take precedence? Keep the team fresh for the England encounter on the 1st June or try your main team on Tuesday?

I thought we should have seen both Pak and India warmup games as important matches. Because its not often we get to play these teams in such conditions.

I believe that Kayes has a big part to play in the matches to come. He is finding form at the right time.

If it was a any other teams , the lost I wouldn't care... but against big mouth Pakistan and big sesra India ..only win can be a answer... doesn't matter what and how and why...this match we lost because of mashrafe selfish attitude.... because winning against Pakistan and India before the real clash start ... always a mental victory for the players and us...definitely bd will be playing final X11 in India match ... and it will be a tight fight I reckon... India will be facing real test against bd rather then nz.

Stay normal, no point being extra careful, as Nafi said in the other thread that these are just enhanced netting sessions, and for fans: don't get hyper excited like that adda guy here.

Just seeing the news , even players and coaches r shocked ... fans r heart broken like me ..6 over 86 runs with tails... ya it's a shame... hope bd bring their real colors in This match.
341 not winning means , other team watching you and believing their self... no matter what bd score , we can chase it down ... this self belief English will use it for sure in the match ...
Media , fans r too much involved in any kind of match now days ... so practice or not ... u gotta look for win in any stages... top of it... it's champions trophy... so we need to play hard and get our readom back ... otherwise kopal e shoni ase.

I heard that England vs Bangladesh match will held on this same vanue. If that the case is then BD should field a team that would play against England and next Australia.

If you miss catches no combination would work. Got to get the fielding right

we missed plenty of catches against Pakistan, according to some newspapers Soaib Malik got two lives, Fahim-Hasan ali partner got two life as well because of our butterfingers fielders. If this continue with fielding then no way we will win any match, no need to blame mash. I'm sure in Mash last over bowling someone dropped catch

Warm up should be trying things, but same time trying to execute your best game, prepare for the real matches. But, since its India, have to play semi serious. Just cause, it's warm up doesn't mean just be all of the place in your decision and game. I hope they are quite serious. Beating Ind will give good mental boost. But tbh, end of the day it counts for nothing. And, do whatever just don't lose from a comfortable winning position, even in warm ups, Mr Mortaza. Thanks!

Fielding very seriously

Bowling, meh, give bowlers a chance to work on things, taskin needs to perform, maybe Rubel and fizz can practice death bowling. Don't mind part timers bowling again, but spinners can't be finishing

Batting, imrul needs practice, Shakib should come at 4, Sabbir should be tried down the order,

Treat it more seriously than pak game, as boundary and everything was a joke and they scraped a win even then. If venue is same is same as match vs England, need to get accustomed to it

Fielding is most important, can't be dropping catches

Serious enough that we dont drop catches. We can give all the lame excuses in the world but dropping 4-5 catches is something you expect from a minnow team.

Bangladesh dropped 4 catches too against NZ, dropped 5 or so against Pakistan. If this continues we will be playing more often against Zimbabwe. Because the best teams will punish you for your failures. Nasir dropped Latham when latham was on 0 and went on to score 84. Now if the catch was taken Bangladesh would have had NZ for 15-2 after 4 overs and they would struggle to score 250+.

These small things make big differences I tell you.

Our batting looks very weak TBH. Selection blunder and out of form players once again made it "Its Kohli or nothing" as far as our batting goes.

Rohit Sharma - Out of form since injury and didnt even bother to reach UK on time for cousins marriage.

Dhawan - Finished article.

Yuvraj - Poor selection. Suffering from fever and also out of form. Should have been Raina inplace of him.

Karthik - LOL wut? He was struggling against De Grandhomme last game. Who selected him? Should have been Rishabh Pant.

Our inform batters KL Rahul and Manish Pandey out due to injury.

So its all upon Kohli and little bit of contribution expected from Dhoni and Jadhav.

Never seen Indian batting so weak.

Tomorrow will be a tough game for us against the likes of FIzz, Rubel and Shakib. I still expect us to win but have to fight tooth and nail.

Perhaps this is the easiest Indian team BD will ever face.

^ I wonder why did the selectors put together such a team. India can get past Pak/SL but will struggle against better teams in the semi final. The only silver lining is the bowlers are peaking at the right time. While this maybe the weakest batting line up, it is one of the best bowling line up for India. B Kumar/Bumrah are in red hot form and then you have Shami/Umesh and the Ashwin/Jadeja duo.

Kohli/Dhoni still can change chase down any score any day. But the likes of Rohit Sharma/Dhawan/Yuvraj don't deserve to be on the team. Even that poser Gambhir was in good form. Sanju Samson/Robin Uttahapa could easily replace the ones selected.

It will be an interesting to see how India performs in the CT.

Bah, Indians always peak during tournaments regardless of form or quality.

They weren't even close to being favourites in the prev CT, yet they end up winning it and going undefeated in all their matches lol

Its due to fear of failure. Like players, even selectors compete for their job. They do not want to take the risk of putting an youngster on an ICC event due to a fear of what if they fail. Hence the conservative approach with TTF and playing it safe. I can write atleast 10 Indian batsmen who are better than the players representing us in champions trophy. But selectors mostly take this safer route in bigger tournaments with a hope that it will pay off.
