Default Shakib next captain in line, Are we doomed?

58/10 vs west indies (wc '11)
78/10 vs south africa (wc '11)
84/10 vs india (practice match)

Guess what all these matches had in common?

Fitnah will sure re arrive. All the good work Mash did since taking over as LOI captain, will be destroyed. BD need should look into Tamim and Mahmudullah for captaincy role too, both are vastly internationally experienced players.

Gazi Ashraf Lipu in an interview has said time to start evaluating Shakibs performances.

Particularly we ve grown to be so dependent on him with the ball, we are missing his contributions.

When will you guys realise, he will never be dropped, he is untouchable, even if he scores 0 in the next 10 matches, our selectors won`t have the balls to drop him, because blind fans kiss his feet, 24/7

Because of sakib batting, we ran away from to many winning kisses ...I used to fan of sakib like a he was bd's dad of cricket... but last 3 years he's bs comments, attitude, high noise, sleeping mood in the game , ipl amar **** drama ,orange juice poem, politics in the team, fights with fizz, putting the team under pressure on his fake performance at the no of his batting position , but still holding it... chorabali gaming at the match , fake 50s when bd don't need it, etc... he looses all respect from me...this guy was genuinely talented of his gifted bowling.... now totally he's just a another sanjamul... sorry to say , after champions trophy..... mash need to carry on until we find a captain or till 2019 World Cup. He can't be our captain... then jokers will be losing their business. Sala bolod marka player...

What does he have to do with our batting collapses, he's one player, no tactics are involved from the captain when batting he's not telling them what shots to play is he

His been given captaincy due to improvement in his behaviour. It wasn't given on cricketing merit, taking captaincy etc into account. Like BCB president said, he was rewarded for his good improvement in attitude etc. Great call not to be honest.

It's not the batting failure yesterday, everyone knows his temperament and how he loses his head frequently when batting and also outside the field sometimes , he is simply not captaincy material. A captain needs to be calm , composed and also have a good head on the shoulders.

That's the common denominator!

I am really upset that Mash lost his form and will most likely retire after CT. And we have no other option in the team. Riyad/Tamim would have been a better combo but the captaincy will actually go back to Shak. And I dont think he will be any different from the last time he was the captain.

Only positive thing is we do not have Siddons in the dressing room who gave Shak and Tamim infinite freedom. So, it might not get as worse as it was before.

Aren't you doing a "Trump" here? And like our so called journalists...manipulating the facts...

^^^ Above statement is true but partial and shows the half empty picture ...

Didn't we win our first away test against West Indies under his captaincy?
Look how many matches we have won under his performance?

Tanvir, you are a wonderful member of BC and your contributions are greatly appreciated.
You have an in-depth knowledge of our cricket and you love , passion for Tigers are unquestionable, but when you start a "Dinraat" thread, it does NOT reflect your true Tanvir IMHO>

Tamim should be our Captain. He's smart, knowledgeable and easily the best player in our team.

Shakib shouldn't be our captain. He has no interest in cricket anymore.

Shakib hasn't been too bad a captain in domestic level.

I think it's about his motivation level. A motivated mash lead our team. If Shakib had the same level of motivation then we will go up and up

Tamim is definitely more aggressive than Shakib. Tamim won't kill us with over usage of spin on the trott like Shakib does, plus his field placing more likely to be aggressive too!

Fair enough! We need to give him chances before drawing conclusions, I am all for that. But also, he needs to show that he is an improved captain from the past, otherwise I fear he will face criticisms 10 folds because there is a lot more to lose now and a lot more focus on the team and captain and even the coaching staff all around. But I do agree the team Mashrafe has and the team Shakib had, there is a huge difference and practice match doesn't show much. I am willing to give him chances, and maybe T20 team is the best place to do that. He is the captain there, show us what you can do with the team, our ranking is after Afghanistan, take us to atleast number 6 there in 3 years.

Tamim isn't a great captain, look at his bpl performances as one

One thing I do like about tamim over mushfiq is that he didn't have mushfiqs ego, more them once when he's taken over the test captain, he's gone upto Mehedi to ask him to set his own field and he's asked both Mehedi and shakib about field settings generally

Sometimes a good captain is one that can use his resources well, and having players who can set better fields to spin is one
