Default Bangladesh Vs Australia Test Squad

Where is everyone? only a week and a bit left. Squad should be announced today or tomorrow. Whats everyone thinking about the possible lineup?

My lineup would be,

Tamim
Imrul
Mominul
Mushy (c)
Shakib
Mosaddek
Liton (wk)
Miraz
Taijul
Shafiul
Fizz

Extras: Taskin, Nasir, Soumya

I know they wont go with this, but this wouldve been my ideal squad. I dont think Soumya deserves that opening slot or one down ahead of either Imrul or Mominul. They will probably drop both Mominul and Kayes and play Soumya and Shabbir. But on merit, form... Imrul and Mominul deserves to play this game. Hope Liton plays and keeps so we can have Mushy up the order to mix up the righty lefty combination. Heard Mosaddek maybe recovering from an injury or illness in which case Nasir should play. This guy cant perform no more. Solid batsman at home, decent bowling option and best fielder.

Shafiul gets the nod ahead of Taskin and Rubel because all 3 are likely to be ineffective but Shafiul will probably be the most economical. Musta-Miraz-Taijul-Shak can take 20 wickets.

I thought about a balanced low turning wicket before but with occasional rain on forcast, we need to prepare a pitch that can have a result within 4 days. If we take that chance and lose it, meh.. Indians have a few laugh, Pakistanis invites us again but thats it. But if we take that chance and win... it will shock the world alright! So I would take that chance..

I don't see why Soumya should be dropped when he gave us 3 half centuries the last 2 tests. You are letting Champions Trophy cloud your judgment. I would go with this:

Tamim
Soumya
Mominul
Mushy
Shakib
Mosaddek
Litton
Miraz
Fizz/Taijul/Shafiul/Subashish

Mossadek 3rd would be interesting. I would love to see Nasir back in the ODI team, but not tests.

@Yankees.. Soumya may not deserve a chop but same could said on a high scale for Kayes. Tamim-Kayes is the best test opening partner we have ever had and I see no reason why this should be altered to experiment

1. Tamim
2. Soumya/Imrul
3. Mominul
4. Rahim(c)
5. Shakib(vc)
6. Mosaddek
7. Litton Das(wk)
8. Mehedi Hasan
9. Shafiul Islam/Mohammad Shohid
10. Fizz
11. Taijul

If you wanna take an extra batsmen then Drop taijul and bring in Nasir

You can't have Soumya, Mominul and Imrul all in the same XI you can only choose 2 out of three.

I would choose 19 people:

Seamers: Fizz, Mohammad Shohid, Shafiul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Kamrul Islam Rabbi (3 choose 6)
Spinners: Taijul, Mehedi Hasan
Allrounders: Shakib, Nasir
Batsmen: Tamim, Imrul, Soumya, Mominul, Mosaddek, Riyad, Sabbir(5 choose 7)
Wicket Keeper: Rahim, Litton Das

I think This is what the selection may come down to barring any injuries or last minute surprise inclusions.

This tells you everything you need to know about our test team. Just because they were our best doesn't mean it was any good. We suck at tests bro. So experiment we shall.

Imrul's test average is 28.19. Soumya's test average is 37.00. And he is also 6 years younger than Imrul. You want the same mediocrity we have always enjoyed? Then, by all means, go ahead with Tamim-Imrul. But if you want the chance at something better, you persist with Soumya. Maybe he comes good, maybe not. Who knows. But he's already giving us the same as Imrul, but with a lot more upside.

Fizz is a liability in test. His frazile body isn't suitable for playing the longer form of cricket.

TBH the way he was bowling in Champions trophy, he looked like a liability in ODIs too. Definitely not the same bowler as he was in 2015.

True. His secret code has already been cracked by most of the batters. It's almost certain that he will never be as threatening as he was in his first couple of serieses. It will get tougher and tougher for him from here on.

Your beloved Kohli has not been at his prime for some time now.

Imruls test average doesnt reflect his performance in the last 2 years which is pretty good. I didnt Soumya doesnt deserve a go.. but I dont see why is Imrul being overlooked.

Right.. But isn`t that great that if Fizz gets selected with his fragile body then he will bowl crap and that will help Bd to lose by big margin and that will even help us to troll and taunt more over here....

I think shohid is still recovering from his post surgery period.. and mosaddek is recovering from his allergy in eyes.

I would consider this...
Tamim
Soumya
Imrul
Mushfiq
Mominul
Shakib
Liton Kumar Das
Mehedi
Taijul
Musta/Shafiul
Taskin/Rubel

Stupid decision to drop Mominul. I would take Momin ahead of Soumya and Sabbir any day. I know he is off form in overseas tests but he is still damn good

This is exactly what we should want as fans. Guys getting in and out of the team based on merit.

Mominul and Riad have not been performing so they get dropped. Nasir had a very good domestic performance, and he's back in the fold. As was the case with Liton. If Mominul is good enough, he will prove it in the domestic structure, and he will get another chance. And I fully expect him back.

Lol Sabbir in tests again.. That's why we can't develop any young players, supposedly our savior in test cricket gets dropped after a bad series for someone who's a t20 specialist. Wouldn't be in my 11 but is must in the squad must be demoralizing for him.

Tamim
Sarkar
Kayes
Mushfiq
Shakib
Mossadek
Liton
Miraz
Taijul
Taskin
Fizz

My hunch is that the top order would be same as the 2nd test vs sri lanka with Tamim and Soumya opening, Imrul at no.3. They might even go with Sabbir at 4 and Liton might not make into the team.
