Default MILESTONE: Tamim`s 50th Test

With everyone so engrossed with Shakib`s 50th test, the unsung batting legend of Bangladesh has just played his 50th Test, the greatest Batsmen ever produced by Bangladesh has had test Hundreds against England in England, England in Bangladesh, Pakistan(Double), WI, India and Zimbabwe.

Tamim has also contributed in many key performances. Hats off to the legend.

I don't think he is unsung much. At the same time, I don't treat him as a batting legend yet. But definitely, he is my fav player not for his records but for his playing style.

Fact is that people started hating him long before they're doing it to Shakib now. Tamim used to go boom boom unnecessarily, come dancing down the wicket w/o any cause, throw wickets away and most importantly couldn't convert his 50's into 100's regularly - all have some truth. I still liked him then, and I do the same now.

Best of luck Tamim!

Best batsman BD produced to date. Only 10k+ intl run batsman we have. 18 centuries (BD record) and 64 50's (BD record).

Only 6 post in that thread in two days time.

Shakib is second in runs (9k+), centuries (12), and 50s (61) with three less innings. The reason Shakib is more heralded is his bowling surpasses the overall performance.

Best of luck to Tamim and Shakib. Beat the Aussies. That is all.

Make it count boy!

Lord's honor board was quite special. But needs to see more double centuries next to his name, too good of a player not to get there often.

All the best

One of the three pillar of bd test cricket.
Scored 71 in a difficult pitch.

What a match he played. Leads both team in run scoring. 2 crucial knocks to give us a historic win. Hats off to the champ. May you do something more wonderful in the next match and matches in the future. Cement yourself among the greats.

yes. Right now he is the most consistent and best pillar we have in our batting order. yes I understand why Sakib was the MoM. But without Tamim's consistent performance, our team would always struggle. Unlike some other superstar(s), he adjust his "style" based on what cricket format he is playing and what his team needs. That needs to be appreciated and should be an example for all the rest of the batsman.

Yes Tamim is one of the rarest talent we have and the best part of him and Mushy is they always learn from their mistakes and tries their best to improve. Wish Shakib had the same urge to improve himself then we could have achieved so much. Anyways Tamim has been the unsung hero for a long long time now. His crucial knocks at the top always gets overshadowed with some latter performance from some other players. I just want to take this opportunity to Thank Tamim as I am sure we are not going to get a world class openner like Tamim anytime soon !! Love you ma boy !!

His career average in Chittagong is 35+. However, since 2014, he is averaging 63 in Chittagong. Very promising and looking forward to winning the toss.

He is a very crucial batsman at the top of the order. If Bangladesh finds another opener like him then it would be great for the team.

He's an underachiever, and should be disappointed with his test record. A guy like him should be capable of averaging around the 50 mark if not more. I believe he's so capable that he's good enough to score a few triple hundreds if not more. Tamim has no excuse for his test record. His job is to bat, yet his average is still lower than Shakib's whose main job in tests is to bowl – really!!! at least Mushfiqur has the excuse of being a keeper hence his low average, but Tamim doesn't have any excuse. It's his 50th test, but only 8 test hundreds when really he should've scored 16 test hundreds with the talent and experience he possesses. Tamim knows that. Just look at Warner at tests – racking up hundreds for fun. Tamim's fitness has a part to play in that of course, but that's his fault in the end.

Yes RealSoorts, tell him all about how to achieve success. I presume you have some personal experience on how to better unlock your potential? Why else would you harangue the man who scored the most runs off both teams where there were only 4 50s?

LOL ^^^ plus if sticking around for long when all his partners are perishing right and left makes Mr. Tamim Iqbal an underachiever, I suppose his partners are then "pathetic wuss"?

You can't just "rack up 100s" by yourself. It takes two to tango in batting and given our shaky top order where 10/3 or 18/4 is not an uncommon sight across the formats, maybe just maybe asking him to earn Macarthur Genius is just asking a bit too much.

Tamim has been an underachiever in his career overall, he should be averaging 45+, he was crap 12-14

Look at Warner, he's not better than tamim in terms of talent, but he's been ahead of him for years, only recently has tamim stepped up to that level, but he's conversion to 100's are still low

His partners have been pathetic

I want to see Tamim convert more of these 50s to 100s.
This is where he has been an underachiever.

Should be more of a purple patch. He is a leader. At the top of the order, he needs to hang in there.
