BREAKING: Pandurang Salgaoncar, Pune pitch curator, suspended with immediate effect. Ramesh Mhamunkar to take over. (Twitter)

Hmm. So BCCI will investigate what happen? I mean? Really? How can they investigate?
Shouldn’t it be some independent body or something?

Anyways guy got suspended, someone else will take over and continue The Job

There are thousands directly involved with Indian cricket and millions indirectly, you gotta be a grade a hater and bigot to call them all cheaters.

BCCI is the biggest cricket board in terms of everything and has its fair share of faults, it is almost impossible for any organization as big as BCCI to track and monitor all the workers 24/7, it is not like other boards filled with saints and sages and having zero corruptions. You have more chances getting mugged in the streets of NY than Islamabad or colombo does not mean NY is any **** hole, you will still choose to live in NY in a heartbeat, sheer size and wealth comes with crime and corruption, that is how the world rolls.

Very hard to tell if the Indians are bowling well or the pitch doing something?

Great bowling or pitch making them look good?

This is real shameful man, BCCI must find a way to monitor lower level workers, ground staffs as well, since it has already been proved that players are not the only ones that bookies target.

What is this tampering?

Did they put different soil other than the one currently used?

So I'm on the side of the guy who is responsible for taking care of the wicket.

Not exactly on topic but I just found out that we never won a single t20 against NZ and the ODI head to head record is also pretty even than I previously thought, I like this thing about NZ, criminally underrated yet always a formidable opponent.

Well, most of that T20 record was more or less the effect of Baz (Average of 130.50, Ross, and Vettori...

It is not that significant since they have played only 5 matches.

I am seriously worried about our chances in wc 19. If we continue playing Dhoni, Axar, Jadhav, rahane, Karthik we should just kiss our chances goodbye, the weakest Indian batting line up I have ever seen, if the top 3 fails cheaply we will end up losing the match more often than not, it is not like we have any lack of young talents. I don't have the slightest bit of idea why we aren't trying guys like Pant, Iyer, Krunal etc in Jamodis at home. Dhoni has regressed beyond recovery, a complete liability in 300+ run chases while sucking all the momentum when we bat first, his hand-eye coordination is gone, can't hit big to save his life, if there is 16 to get in 10 balls I would rather have Bhuvi on strike than Dhoni, as if this is not enough we managed to dig Karthik out of the grave, and guess what? he just won us the match chasing a mighty 230, might as well give a chance to Harbhajan and Amit Mishra for the next series

If that XI plays in the WC, who knows they might pull a England and get eliminated by Bangladesh.

Dhoni keeps getting criticized, but so many occasions he is the only one with the resolve to save the team from imminent defeat.
Pretty sure Ashwin, Jadeja will be back.

Why did NZ choose to bat first. Is there a total you can be comfortable with when Kohli and co are chasing?

Some really really hilarious posts in this thread. Lol. Although the hyper activity of some usual suspects to blame BCCI for this incident haven't surprised me at all. Tgey r known for their silly posts

Fact is every single board influences the curators to prepare types of pitches that will favor the host team. It's not unique to bcci only. We r acting as if we've never dished out doctored pitches to the visiting team. Lol

Our own board bcb has done it in the past and rightly so. If the host doesn't take the advantage of playing at home then what's the point of playing a home series? The only reason behind our couple of famous test victory against top teams like Australia and England was doctored square turning pitches.

The point I'm trying to make here is BCCI in no way is responsible for the shambolic act of that pitch curator and shouldn't be blamed for it. That corrupt pitch curator should be punished and this particular issue should just end there.

But yes, in order to keep such things from happening in future the salaries of the pitch curators should be increased and it's true for every single cricket playing nation, not just India only.

Wow what a turn around, from going to 100 runs in 10 overs, to becoming India's spearhead pacer.

Just goes to show that talent is all bullshit, hard work can get you just as far.

If we carry this same team to wc I won't be surprised in BD beating us.

Dhoni as a captain introduced young blood and got rid of the passengers in the batting line up but he was terrible at handling fast bowlers, always trusted line length trundlers, he took Vinay Kumar to the Aus tour for crying out loud. Kohli turning out to be the exact opposite, excellent with fast bowlers and terrible at selecting batsmen. Which is why dada was the best captain we ever had, he was superb at unearthing raw talents, Yuvi, Bhajji, Zaheer, Shewag every single one of them owe him for their careers, he opted for Dhoni when Karthik and Parthiv were at peak and mind you he never enjoyed half the power and freedom as Dhoni and Kohli, had to fight to get what he wanted every single fcukin time. Gotta kick out yes men like Shastri and have Dada as a mentor and advisor to Kohli.
