Ariful was the fastest centurian in dhaka league. It was 2015.

What the selectors have done all these yrs. He shld be groomed. Whats the point of bpl if we ve to our t20 dead rubbers?

Very poor planning from our selectors!

Why so aggressive, I was just asking to see if I needed to clarify my post

...

As for you point, I agree with it, batsmen statistically peak at 29, we debut at 19 get rid at 21, guy like imrul should have been debuted around 2014, Nafees should have been given chances now

Ariful and Jakir has a good chance to get in at srilanka series.
Arif can bowl too as a medium pacer, and Jakir can be a back up keeper instead of liton or sohan.
I like to see saif and Afif get in the team asap instead of Kaye’s and others.
Bd need new bloods , and they r rising.

Said and Afif are not ready yet for International Level. They have not anything extraordinary yet. They can be part of A team but not the national team.

Other countries have much better players than Saif and Afif (stat wise) but not even considered in their A team yet.

I rather pick proven consistent performer in domestic, development/a team than any U 19 boys. Right now, I can only think of Nazmul Hossain Shanto for our ODI team only.

For T20, I would wait till BPL finished and select players based on consistent good performance and not picking players based on one or two blinked innings (Mehedi Maruf last year)

^^ totally agree with you about Afif and Saif.

They need more experience in lower levels and A team before even before conversation for National senior team considered.

Agree about Afif and Zakir but disagree about Saif.

Saif is already exposed to the national and he didn't looked liked over matched, of-course he need to learn and grow, but he can do that in the national team for now.

Its not any other country we are talking, its Bangladesh we are talking, based on the opportunity we have in Bangladesh for below national team it will be injustice to just keep them away from national team for Shanto or Saif. There is a need for #3 and FB bowling all-rounder and they fit the criteria. We need to throw them in the real war and see if they can survive and learn and grow. If not, they will take their experience and will work on their weakness and come back in future. For for now, Saif and Shanto deserve serious consideration.

O... ok... then yes I agree Saif (Hasan) need to wait for now.

About Afif, I wish he played the whole BPL. Watch out.... he has noticeable talent. He may knocking the door (to national team), quicker than others (in U19 team)

I think afif might be considered before others because he’s been around a bit longer and has made a bit of a name for himself and got a bit more hype behind him. He also is handy in limited overs cricket because of his offspin and his batting ability. Anyone capable of regularly bowling pretty well and being able to take 4fers and 5fers and has the ability to hit big shots with the bat plus can also play a longer innings if necessary, we’ll they have. A lot of skills that can be helpful and afif In various matches and innings has shown these things at a young age.

Thing is there's plenty of guys that can hit, need to find some that can do it consistently, otherwise the t20 team will never be any good on a consistent basis. I think the aim for an international t20 batsmen should be to average 35+ and strike at 120+, that's not saying every batsman in the team has to achieve those sorts of numbers because I think it's fine to have one maybe two that strike a bit slower but hold the innings together but those ones need to aim to average higher if possible and another if possible is for those guys to still have the ability to hit later on towards the end.

Ariful has shown some decent t20 cricket so far this BPL but he needs to keep it up otherwise he's just another guy who is really hit or miss.

When everybody in our national t20 team plays great, then sure, Ariful need to be extra ordinary to get a chance. But in our current situation with so many pathetic performance in our t20 team, I think he already did enough to get a call for national selection,

Afif is very young.... it's ok for him to go one step back and coming back with two steps forward.

Is he growing from last year, more consistent from last year, playing more confidently from last year? Minimized/fixed some of his problems from last year? That's what it matter.

I am not an expert here, but one thing I can say, he is playing more confidently and consistently now than last year.

I think Mehedi Maruf didn't get enough oppurtunity to show his performance in this year BPL. He was dropped after the first match duck where he went for the big shot and caught in the deep. Then DD benched him for few matches. And for last few matches he batted in the lower middle order thats not his comfortable position. In the other team, Shanto is getting chances one after another failure and now he is starting to perform.

I read somewhere, Mosaddek also not happy with his batting position.

Maruf and Mosaddek should leave this star packed DD side next year. Otherwise they wont get enough chances with these big names in the team.
