Some people are really terrible with fame. They think that with fame, they are powerful. They can impact another's life with just the snap of a finger. It is all an illusion. Self-awareness and showing some moral modicum is absolutely essential.

Pericles (circa 495-439 BCE) once said, "What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others."

This was not the first time that Shabbir has ignited and blew his fuse. Until he corrects this, there's no way he's finding a place in my team.

Hasn’t been performing anyway so why does he think he’s all that to the point where he can physically impact a child or anyone for that matter? These players at least to a certain point are role models, this sort of behaviour or mentality can’t be tolerated.

We have a tendency to group Sabbir, Soumy, and Nasir together:

Sabbir - 26 years old, int'l centuries 0, disciplinary incidents 2 + 1 pending.
Soumya - 24 years old, intl centuries 1, disciplinary incidents 0.
Nasir - 26 years old, intl centuries 2, disciplinary incidents 1.

Sabbir is older, less upside, lower average in tests and ODI, and is clearly dumber than the other 2. It's time to cut our losses.

He prolly would have gotten away lightly for slapping the kid. But giving threats to match officials, seriously?!!!

Ben Duckett got kicked out of the Ashes team for much less. BCB is already looking poor on discipline by letting him continue with the training camp.

Just with Duckett if you are referring to the recent incident then he was playing for the England lions (A team), he wasn’t in the ashes squad, nonetheless he got sent home without playing a match.

Default Sabbir Rahman's alleged fan assault to be investigated by BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board will sanction heavy punishment if batsman Sabbir Rahman is found guilty of assaulting a fan during a first-class match in Rajshahi, said a BCB official on Thursday. BCB disciplinary committee vice chairman Sheikh Sohel told Cricbuzz that the board was aware of an incident being reported last week in this regard and would put Sabbir to task if it found that the claim to be true.

"Such an act cannot be tolerated," Sohel fumed. "We will take all necessary steps to make sure he pay heavy price if he is found out to be guilty as it damaged our reputation along with the game. The moment I get the report, we will call him. But after seeing the report if we feel we don't need to talk to him, we will give appropriate punishment," he added.

According to the report, the incident took place on the second day of Rajshahi Division's National Cricket League game against Dhaka Metropolis when Sabbir lost his cool after a supporter 'made a noise' directed at Sabbir during one of the innings breaks. Apparently, Sabbir took permission from the on-field umpires and confronted the young fan behind the sight screen, leading to a jostle.

The incident was seen by the reserve umpire initially, who later reported it to the match referee. It is learnt when match referee Showkatur Rahman called him to investigate the incident, Sabbir decided to behave roughly with him. Showkatur later reported the incident to BCB's cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan for taking appropriate steps as the case was dealing with a cricketer of current national set-up, who are managed largely by the BCB cricket operation.

Later Akram forwarded it to the board's disciplinary committee after informing the matter formally to the BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury, who admitted about receiving a report about Sabbir's recent fiasco.

"We have received the match referee's report and forwarded it to the disciplinary committee," BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters. "Sabbir is being investigated for a level-4 offence and in such cases penalties include multiple-match bans in addition to a fine of Tk 5 lakh."

Sabbir is familiar dealing with disciplinary issues, having made headlines for all the wrong reasons on quite a few occasions since making his international debut in 2014. In 2016, Sabbir was penalised 30 percent of his BPL contract money [ TK 12 Lakh] for breaching serious off-field disciplinary code of contract for entertaining a female guest at the team hotel.

In the just concluded BPL, he was penalized half of his match fees and awarded three demit points for misbehaving with an on-field umpire in his team Sylhet Sixers's second match against Comilla Victorians.

Sabbir not only failed in BPL but also while wearing the national jersey as team management had warned him to watch his behavior after he was found to be involved in bad behaviour during an ODI match against Afghanistan during their three-match ODI series in September 2016.

On a lighter note, BD has a team comprised of truly diverse characters, you have snowflakes like Mushy, wanna be gangsta Shabbir, bodragi Shakib, sentimental Tamim etc.
