Rajshahi wicket have hints of green. Soumya and SN did not survive long on it. Hope Imrul will get a century today.

Momin scored only 4 on a track where his team racked up 700+...he will not get a chance to bat again before the SL Test series.

258, 13, 0, 107, 4...average of 76.4. Not bad, but nothing great considering the flatness of the wickets and the small BKSP ground. Good net session though.

Mosaddek needs to score at least a 50 on this Rajshahi greentop against a strong NZ attack of Shafiul, Roy, and Taijul. His first-class scores since eye injury are 35, 50*, 110, 17...average of 67.33. Again, not shabby, but not amazing either.

I would of course have both Momin and Musa in my Test XI and give them both a very long run.

IMO, Junaid should be in consideration for the Windies and Aus tours. Last season he scored 1K+ runs, the second batsman to do so after Tushar: http://stats.espncricinfo.com/bangla...17;type=season

This season so far, NCL and BCL together, he has scored 499 runs in 10 innings, including one not-out.

^^ Our first FC double came from Biddut playing against some Pakistani FC side, I think. That was almost 20 years ago.

He has a good strike rate in T20s. He didn't get any team in the last BPL.

It was a good idea to send Imrul to play the BCL. The selectors wanted to see if he was ready after recovering from the injury.

Mosaddek had a good Sri Lanka tour. Even though he has to improve a lot against pace bowling, he can be a very handy batsman in subcontinental conditions.

Correction 32nd. Raqibul was the first and still only Bangladeshi to hit a triple ton.

As far as I'm aware these are the first 4 double centurions:

Habibul Bashar 2000/2001
Minhajul Abedin 2001/2002
Hasanuzzaman 2002/2003
Shahriar Hossain 2003

7 wickets for Sohag Gazi. East Zone decided not to enforce the follow on, despite having 300+ lead. It will be awesome if they can get result on a flat Khulna wicket.

Tushar and Kapali certainly scores pretty heavily these days. I wonder though, have they fixed the issues that ousted them from international cricket? Did they even have that opportunity? We don't have any decent offie or leggie in the first class setup, nor do we have any decent swing/seam bowler. As far as I'm concerned, they have scored a lot of runs against against some very mediocre dibbly-dobbly bowlers and some decent SLA's, on some pretty tame pitches.

It's too bad though. They and countless others should have been looked after in the High-performance/ A-squad setup. It's the lack of this intermediate step from U-19 that's causing a lot of pipeline issues, which will certainly become really problematic is as little as five years. Just look at the miserable SL team. They were world beaters just 4-5 years ago. But the new generation is nowhere near as capable as the previous one.

I do not think only batting can help. You need to be fit enough to remain active on-field for 5 days. We already have poor fielders and poorer wicketkeeper in test team. Say you make 400 on a batting pitch and you are bowling well. But you could not decimate the top order because of ground fielding. The sure winning position looses your grip and by day five you may be facing a defeat instead of even a draw. Tamim makes run but also fields better in long positions. He became fitter. Shakib, Riad, Rubel are good fielders. Mominul, Fizz not much. We know Mushfiqur cannot keep. That is already too much compensation. We may get a 50 from Kapali/Tushar but opponent may end up getting 100 because of one of them.

The domestic performers should be made to go through beep test. If they don't meet the passing score required for the national team, they should not in consideration. IMO, this will be an easy way to end debate regarding Tushar, Razzak, Kapali, Nafees, etc.
