There is a new potential tall lefty first bowler coming up who took the game away from abahani for prime bank other day. The guy is only 16 about 6'3 tall, no experience of first division or second division. I have seen his bowling action in you tube seems like he has good bowling action and has ability to swing the ball with wrist positioning up. His name is sharifur islam. I hope he get into bcb's radar for the age group.

Just my observation after following Mosaddek for few Abahani season ... he did very good in previous seasons when played under pressure .. this season his team's top 4 combined doing exceptionally good (Anamul / Saif Hasan / Shanto / Nasir) and he comes in #5 when team is in good shape .. he plays better under pressure in DPL ... I remember few season's earlier he single handed carried Abahani's batting for one DPL. Also all the talks did not help him either! Again this is my observation only.

Abahani have been rattled by Yasin Arafat...

They are currently 13/5 after 5 overs, with Arafat figures of: 3-0-11-4

Yasir possibly an option for the national team, especially in tests if batting isn’t working.

I was talking about Yasir ali btw.

Yadira Arafat, isn't he Pakistani? Think he's specialising in t20s....

Mosaddek struggling heavily this season. We need him for the World Cup as a top order batsman. Being wasted down the order by Abahani.

List A average falls under 40 now and his strike rate falls to under 90.

^I hope that eye surgery is not behind it. He is one of the few youngsters that I rate would be a shame if his career is affected because of that.

I don't think so. His red ball form was decent. Since his eye problems he's hit a hundred in the BCL and a not out 50 in the NCL as well. Also played out a tricky period in the first Test vs SL to ensure a draw.

If his vision was compromised severely, he probably wouldn't have been able to do that.

I think its just being utilized poorly. He's not a power hitter or a guy who can hit from ball 1. Yet in BPL he was batting down at #7 and in the DPL he's batting at #6. He is a top order batsman.

Shanto has to be close to the national team in some form, doing well in both list A cricket and FC cricket.

He's had 1 international game. And that too an away test match. And hasnt even featured as a backup since. Is that anyway to nurture talent?

I guess that one off test was a good experience for him but he wasn't ready at the time for a proper run in the team although he could've been given a squad spot here or there for showing good form. Now he's one of the best bats not in the squad so it's probably time to get him in there now or to start to introduce him properly in some way.
