The WI players who opted to play PSL instead of this tournament should not be picked to play the WC if WI qualifies

They will not let bygones be bygones...

Windies are leaving them, we have a structured domestic system, along with an A-team.

There are tremendous talents in the region...

Windies are still a really good team so this is a really good win from Afghanistan.

All the other matches were one-sided

Netherlands beat HK by 8 wickets
Scotland beat PNG by 7 wickets
Nepal beat UAE by 5 wickets

The other match between Zimbabwe and Ireland was abandoned.

Dipendra Singh made a resolute 41 off 32 balls in that run chase for Nepal.

He will be of the players to watch out for.

When mediocre sides like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have gotten automatic qualification, none of the sides in the WCQ can claim to be a "really good" team.

The Windies are a dysfynctional bunch who would rather play IPL and PSL than represent their team. And if the players are in the right - and they may be - than the board is so screwed that this is the team they deserve.

It is sad, given that I am a fan of Windies style of fast bowling.

Congrats Afghanistan. No one should take them lightly. We are really lucky that we are not playing this qualifying tourney. Surpassing Afghans and Zimbabwe in their home ground would have been extremely difficult..

My heart is crying for WI though. I want them to qualify for the sake of cricket. World cup without them would be dull

I know that it's only a warmup. But this match highlights a lot of the deficiencies of Windies...
The death bowling is questionable. The batsmen are hardly committing to play on merit.

But seriously have to give AFG credit for that fightback

Due to the PSl,Windies has sent a weak batting line up,which is dependent on Gayle,Lewis and Samuels. Both Samuels and Gayle are in their twilight years.Odds on if they could have played PSl they would have.
On Gayle his posturing to women is on the unprofessional level, and has been shunned by County and Big Bash sides.
