Thanks for the match thread Maruf!

That rendition by the BD cricketers ensemble was very enjoying for me. Even, I wanted to join those two guys in the dance.

I can't make out who they are.

And Mr. Khaled Mahmud not wasting any time with a bowl of nuts(?)

Good team morale building. Don't know if it was the right time...especially after dropping the warmup game

All the best

lets do this...... thanks for the thread Maruf!

gonna be a tough one I reckon. Hope our seamers can survive it. Would like this squad,

Tamim
Liton
Mushy
Shakib
Mosaddek
Riyad
Shabbir
Ariful
Apu
Rubel
Hider/Jayed

2 seamers, Apu and Shakib make up the bowling attack. 4 overs has to be squeezed between Mosa, Riyad, Ariful. But the extended batting attack should help. I dont trust our seamers enough to play all 3 of them. 10-12 overs of seamers may go for 100-150 runs right there

if we can play rashid khan well, we will win

i feel main threat will be mohammed Nabi, he is genuine allrounder like shakib

we should win comfortably. experiences of shakib, mahmudullah, tamim, mushfiq, sabbir, rubel will be handy. miraz should not be in the squad.

bowling attack

2 pacer
riad
shakib
najmul

may be some contribution from ariful , mosaddek or sabbir

my line up

Tamim
liton/ soumya
mushfiq
shakib
riad
sabbir
mosaddek
ariful
najmul
rubel
one of abu (hider/jayed) or abul

Both Shakib and Nazmul are left arm spinners. I reckon Miraz will play instead of Ariful to offer the right arm spinner option as we aren't going to solely rely on Mosaddek for that.

I have never watched Abu Jayed or Abu Haider bowl. How good are they? Are they similar type of bowlers? How fast are they? Do they swing it? Do they have potential to be better than Taskin or Al Amin who were both let downs. Do you think both Abu Haider ND Jayed deserve more chances? Coz I can only see Mustafiz declining from here on out as he doesn't seem to be learning from his mistakes no swing, no Yorkers, receding pace, over reliance on his predictable cutters, bowling short, getting injured and not using his head which used to be his strongest trait. Even after years Mash is still the best pacer we have produced and I wish Mash wasn't plagued by injuries during his prime then he had the potential to be an ATG who might've inspired a generation of fast bowlers like Rafique did and Shakib is doing with his left arm all-round ability. I am sad because I still remember how happy I was during the world cup in Australia because of how good our pace attack looked with Taskin, Rubel bowling at pace accurately while Mash was there to back them up with his wily swing and accuracy, and when Fizz joined them and we started having a 4 man pace attack I thought it was a Dawn of a new era and thought we'd become the best pace attack in Asia after Pakistan or on par. Who knew that it was nothing but a false dawn? Add to that we haven't got any leg spinners yet coz we managed zubayer horribly and our lone quality off spinner lacks support from the fielders, the wicket keeper who can't grab the edges and a think tank who can't think ahead and destroyed prospects like Zubayer and Miraz. We always go for the boring old safe formula of left arm mini all-rounders

Afghanistan has 3 World class spinners, Mossadek is arguably our best player of spin, he needs to play

Firstly Mossadek is our best player of the spin. And just like Miraz, he too can ball spin. Sarkar shouldn't be selected anyway and I don't know why he was picked in the squad.

I don't see Bangladesh doing well in next few series regardless of format and opposition. The national team is without a permanent head coach for over six months now. There hasn't been any significant developments with A-team and u-19 teams either. These all gotta pay. When we loose we will curse at the players but we will forget how poorly BCB has managed the team.

you are one of the most annoying posters ever in BC, why would we be at the receiving end of a AK-47? the match is in India not in Afghanistan. Even if the match was in Afg this is an extremely poor joke

You can also add to that the promise of establishing regional cricket associations. It has been in discussions for many years but still hasn't been materialized.
