Default Need Mash back!

I dont even know where to start. Cant believe Mash retired to have these kinda seamers play. Even though T20 is his worst format, he is still a mile and a half better then every seamer in this country right now. Also Shakib will need to be born a couple more times to be the captain Mash is. Mash needs to comeback and play this format for another year or 2. He can afford to play 5-6 t20s we play this year. Just skip DPL if needed.

I know some people will feel like this is taking a step back, but at the moment.. there is simply no one to fill the void. Its the harsh truth. Its probably not good for the future but I would rather keep the life support and keep this team alive for another 2 years rather then kill it now...

no its not.. Mash was the better bowler in this BPL compared to Rubel-Abul-Rony-Rahi.... in terms of econ rate. He can clearly do the job better. On the upside we get a proper captain and a more capable hitter then Shabbir, Mossaddek, Abul

He was about to be dropped so he retired himself to save him from the embarrassment. He is not the drama queen like Mushfiq to come out of retirement.

I think Tamim is a very under-rated captain. Shakib is by the book kind of guy and unwilling to take a risk. It was when he refused to keep playing spinners when Afghanistan were having trouble playing them. It's standard for pacers to get last 4 overs and Shakib went with it.

Replace Papon with Mash. Maybe in 5 years from now. Mash has retired. Let's respect his decision

TBH IMO our current dressing room and culture is not conducive to produce all rounded captains. Because our senior players have large egos and their feet don’t touch the ground they don’t base their decision on the state of play.

Mashrafee has spent a longer time with people like Bashar and Pilot to keep it all together. Also Mashrafee knows how to get the best out of a player by talking or shouting to them constantly on the field.

This culture will sadly effect our future cricket once Shakib, Tamim and Mushfiqur leave the game and hopefully the next batch don’t have the same God like mentality.

There is an idea. Now I hope the rumour in the media about Mashrafe joining the politics comes true and one day he becomes BCB president. But I suspect Shakib will be that person and he will become another Durjoy, Shujon or Akram.

What are you talking about? Tamim has completely changed and seems much more calmer and down to earth. He is nothing like he was before.

In defense of Mash: Mash was forced to retire, He was internally asked to Retire. You can't have it both ways. Mash is on the right here.

It’s definitely evident you didn’t understand what I said. Being calmer made him a better batsman not better captain material

Mash is 35, and has a knee injury. The fact that he still played limited over games for so long with his injury is very impressive, and I doubt any international player would have done the same if they were put on his shoes. We aren't going to have Mash forever and I can almost guarantee that he'll retire from all forms of international cricket right after 2019 CWC in less than a years time. How many T20s did we have since then?

Tamim is too hot headed, I really hope he doesn't become captain, I vaguely remember that he almost walked out of a BPL match before the coin toss, if you think what Shakib did with that SL game was immature.

Mahmudullah for captain.

BAN needs a calm captain for the match situation, at the same time, who can scream at players in the field. Ideally, Mash. But he will retire in one year. There is no point of bringing him back to T20i only for a year unless he wants to.

Tamim, Shakib, Mushy & Mullah - they are all either over 30 or close to 30. At this point, one would expect that one or two of them would be captain material. Unfortunately, they aren't. Their performance won't improve drastically either. All of them have/will have a negative impact on their individual performance carrying the burden of captaincy.

It's better to chop 2 from these 4. As Mullah is perhaps the better T20 performer among the 4 and we need Shakib's bowling; it would be better to get rid of Tamim & Mushy from T20i. Get 2 young players in and build a T20 team under new captaincy (Mullah or someone young like Mosa). We won't start winning matches right away; but will definitely improve in 1-2 years from where we stand currently in T20i.
