Default 2nd ODI (D/N), Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh at Chittagong, Oct 24 2018| 04:30 AM EDT

THIS IS THE SERIES DECIDER

Rahim surpassed Gordon Greenidge in ODI runs last match. He needs 40 more runs to overtake Zim legend Alistair Campbell.
Mash still needs 3 wickets to overtake fellow legendary captain Kapil Dev in the ODI wicket rankings.

CAN THE TIGERS DO IT? MOST LIKELY. IN ANY CASE, BE IT EASY VICTORY, CLOSE MATCH, OR HUMILIATING DEFEAT,WON'T YOU TUNE IN TO WATCH YOUR SIDE PLAY?

Our review and team selections

Only possible change from the last match - RBX in place of Fizz(who suffered elbow pain in the last match).

This could be Fazle's last chance I guess, with chance for the third match possibly going to Shanto.

Kayes for the double.

Last time a BD batsman went back-2-back was in the 2015 WC.

Athar remembers...

I’d like to get shanto in there somehow, don’t see the point of playing a newcomer for one match, if we are backing fazle then why didn’t shanto get some backing? He really should’ve be in the xi for all 3 of these ODIs, if he misses this 2nd one and plays the 3rd but doesn’t do well then that won’t do his confidence, his development and management/selectors view of him any good.

Also if shanto is in WC plans then he’s one of the least experience so they need to give him some.

Hoping Kayes score 150+, the guy reminds me of Rohit Sharma on a budget.

I too want Kayes to do something special again. I wanted someone to score a double ton. The man was 3/4th the way there last match!

Doubtful. Mash mentioned the need for patience and confidence in a player once they're given a shot. And so it should be. Chopping after two games is a no-no unless there's clear technical or personality flaw. With Fazle, it's nerves according to Mash.

Shanto looked like he couldn't hold a bat and will be out of the picture once Tamim and Shakib return.

Fazle is a future candidate for 7. And a few overs of his bowling was probably needed due to Shakib's absence.

If fazle is a future candidate for number 7 why are they playing him up the order? This is the problem with BD team management, no long term plans, they always do what they think is best short term. If you want a team to develop you have to work towards a long term goal.

I still want to give Shanto another chance than Fazle. Shanto was under pressure when he debuted in the Asia cup against the big teams. Playing against Zimbabwe could be confidence booster.

How is Fazle a future candidate for no.7? Thats gotta be the most ridiculous strategy if true

Imrul is the most boring to watch BD batter ever. No flair whatsoever.

Don't get me wrong. I think he's a shoo in to partner Tamim in ODIs for the time being because his stats are undeniably good (40+ average, decent SR since the last world cup).

Would like to see Shadman in Tests though.

With Tamim and Shakib out and Imrul at 2, you need someone at 3. And you can only start one candidate at 7, not all of them.

Saifuddin, Ariful, Soumya are all competing for 7. Fazle probably is too. He can be aggressive when needed.

He's playing in a diff position now, but you can at least tell if he's fit technically and mentally for int'l level.

Rather see if Fazle, who has done very well in domestics lately, can hold a bat at this level than play Soumya, who has been poor at all levels, at 3.

It's rare for Mash to back anyone more than three matches. If you count from the practice match, today will be Fazle's third match.

Also, Mash explicitly mentioned one more chance for Fazle-

Rather see shanto have a run at 3 since he’s a specialist number 3 and has done well domestically for a few years.
