I don't see any improvements of top order ..no improvement at all..it's just the tail enders saved us from the shame.

i had the impression that they went into the game with high confidence levels; they had their heads higher than they should have been - and that's what did them.

yes a one sided draw is a big achievement for us at this level, but then every day is a new one - they should've had that in mind.

I congratulate Hannan Sarker for his world record. It's a brilliant effort specially when he didn't take much time to do it.

Well done my son!

Meanwhile, Rajin's getting-out-in-40s problem has become a major headache.

His score list in tests now looks like this:

26, 60, 3, 6, 49, 42, 11, 8, 32, 9, 49, 47, 6, 26, 51, and now 47.

Thats 5 40s in 16 innings!

I think Rajin is doing alright for test matches. He's only 20 and could only do better. He inspires confidence in test matches. Within next couple of years, if he continues his hard work and hunger, he would become somewhat test class. Let him mature in his own way.

i second that. if u look at habibul's entire career, u'll see that in the first couple of tests, he's scored at least one half century in each match. i agree that he's been out of touch lately, i.e. except for that 113 in the first test, but overall he's been quite consistent.

rajin is consistent no doubt, but he has to do better. he has to convert those 40's into bigger scores. bangladesh has reached such a phase in test cricket that it doesn't suffice to point out that other batsmen in the team haven't been able to do as well when evaluating the performance of a single player. the key words are "long innings" and "big runs".

Make taposh and tareq as Sumon's batting coach. He is the most irresponsible player in this team. Just look at the way he was out in last 3 innings. As far as rajin is concered, he is a good consistent player.May be our no 6 batting position is "Kufa".nobody at that position is not contributing much. No comments about ashraful, Golla and specially Hannan. We need in-form kapali badly. Whatmore should do something about this irresponsible( except rajin) top order.

it is once again proved that the top order batsmen can not handle the pressure. i strongly believe that they have the talent, but not able to perform well due to tremendous pressure. the pressure is self created and they dont have the mental strength to overcome the same. lara knows the same well and he did the magic saying he will quit it they dont win this match. i mean to say that bangladesh given the match right that moment, thinking wi is going to play very strongly and that kind of feeling generated fear in the mind of bangalesh batsmen. bowlers are also not exceptional, see their performance in this match, which is extremely opposite of their performance so far. they thought that they will loose this match, they cant avoid the defeat, so the general feeling noticed from their attitude that they want just to finish the game only.

I ONCE AGAIN STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT BANGLADESH NEED A PSYCOLOGICAL ADVISOR TO BOOST THE TOUGHNESS AND MENTAL STRENGTH OF THEIR PLAYERS. THEY HAVE THE TALENT, BUT UNDER PERFORMING,,,, SO THEY HAVE TO OVERCOME THE SAME

Default Lets introduce test cricket in the domestic league

I am sure we can find out the real qualified & talented players this way, who can show consistency and play under pressure. I dont think Hannan and Javed are qualified for test cricket given their current forms, they failed in the domestic league recently, none of them have long innings in the domestic leagues, how can they perform in the test cricket? In the recent CCL Hannan failed to pass even 10 runs and got out scoring ducks. I say let all the players play 5 day matches at home in the leagues and then we will find real qualified players. I am sure we have better players out there than Hannan, Javed, and some others playing in the national team.

A long time ago, Alan McGilvray suggested club cricket should be 2 days long, with each side getting 100 overs.

The reason is that most test innings were shorter than this, but it let you complete the game over a weekend (or two Saturdays, each a week apart). If a side bowls the other out for less overs than that, then they get those overs to bat in.

A batsman can play a long innings under those circumstances, but the game gets completed in a reasonable time.

Four days is right for first-class games in my opinion ... part of why English cricket went well with 3 day games for so long was poor quality pitches, especially after rain affected their uncovered wickets.

I guess we are improving. kick out the openers and bring there some new faces. Lower order is fine. Beside sumon, rajin and ash, we need another solid middle order. Manjarul rana should be taken care about his faults. Hopefully, we'll show some better performance in coming future.

And imagine, at that time we will have our best fast bowlers (mashrafi and sharif).
