Default Batsman will have to step up now without Sumon

Since Habibul Bashar got injured, and the latest news is that he's out for 2 weeks, which means that our batsman are going to have to take all the responsibility of batting in the Ireland and Scotland matches.

There is still Javed Omar, now the most experienced batsman in the side (minus Sumon due to injury in finger), but still Javed Omar has been getting injured far too many times lately as well.

I guess age has started taking toll on some of our seniors. And we're gonna have to live upto it.

That leaves a spot in the middle order wide open for the matches in Scotland and Ireland. Chance for Aftab Ahmed to justify his inclusion the squad. Also, for Rajin to prove that he belongs in the one day team.

according to crickinfo, BD is playing 2 matches against Scotland instead of the match against Ireland. Is that correct?

it would be the best if he was sitting outside the entire champion's trophy. he gonna suck anyway against swing in english condition.

Even better, if he does not lead the team. This may be a blessing in disguise. He is a baggage for the team when it comes to ODIs.

I completely agree with AgentSmith..Hez not gonna make much impact on the Champions Trophy unless there is a miracle and pitches are as flat as the ones in subcontinent where it doesn't swing at all..So yeah he'd be better off taking rest and getting ready for the New Zealanders..We want him to perform big then..In tests as well as ODIs...Take care ppl..

Javed and Ashraful should lead from the top order.
Rajin should show some improvement of his score rate,
otherwise it will be hard for him to keep his position in ODI.
Nafis & Aftab should perform good to seal their position.
Nothing should be said for late order, because they always do well.
If the things goes well as above, BD may perform even better without Bashar.
