Bangladesh\'s Hall of Shame
Yet another winnable match looks like it is lost (this poll was posted in the 44th over). Pick the Hall of Shame.

I think Nafis's aim was to just stay at the crease. But a few more singles here and there would have been so useful. We'll always have duds in the team, it's unavoidable. But I think it was the the last three overs that we bowled that killed us. But since our bowlers did so well early on, I voted for those darned sheepish grins!
But over all, VERY happy with today's performance. A lot of positives have come from it Bashar, Masud, Mahmud (*cough*), Baisya struck early, Nazmul, Aftab. BWT why did nazmul bowl only 9 overs? Was he injured?
But otherwise yes, "India won by 11 runs" is pretty hard to bear.

I am happy with today's batting performance. I just hope that both our batting and bowling clicks in the remaining of the tournament. But yes, I don't want rajin, mushfiq and Mahmud in our team next time.

Three reasons why we lost
Tapash went for 67 from 10 overs
India hit 40 runs from their last 3 overs
Nafis hit 9 from 52 deliveries

Mushfiq should be BANISHED from the team from both Tests and ODIs (he should retire and save us some hassle) while Rajin should be sent to PROBATION as far as ODIs are concerned.

C, D and E.
People who saw the game, people who followed the game on the net and people who saw the stats will have quite different perceptions on this game.

I agree it was a very good performance, though I know we were hardly ever threatening. I think one point not mentioned here is India's fielding. It was generally of very high order. No comments on Yuvraj's catch. These things make it very hard for batsmen to build up an innings. There is always the extra pressure. But todays' performace gives us hope.

How about the positive of getting so close to a win. if Nafis had made 20 off those 50 balls we would have won.

In One-day matches- the key is fielding no matter what!!!
Thats why Jonty Rhodes was such an asset in one-dayers, because techinically speaking he used to have an average of 35 plus he used to save at least 15 runs per match through his brilliant fielding and breathless catches that would result in teams scoring 15-20 runs less than they should've!

40 runs in the last 3 overs can happen even against the best bowling side in the world. One of our bowlers (Nazmul) is very young and inexperienced, so it wasn't really a shame.
The real shame was batting of Nafees and having Razin & Mushfique in the team.

BIG TRUTH!!
anyone who has not seen the match will hav no real clue of what the team was on that day!! (A very good example is our member Spitfire_x86 here... I just dont thing he watched anything at all!!)
coz without watching the match in own eyes.. the most important thing of the match is missed... the BODY LANGUAGE & the TEAM SPIRIT of the BD side!!
Trust me... IND & BD team looked totally of same strength n confidence throughout the whole match!!
now how can a net-commentary follower will even realize that?!

I saw the whole match and can say one thing - BD didn't seem like chasing the target except for the initial one-ball aggresive intent by Rafique, and couple of overs of intentional slog by Aftab and Bashar.
What's worst - They didn't seem to have a plan while they did seem to have the firepower. Looking at the way even Baisya played, i am not sure if BD lost this match because of it's own demons or because of Indian bowling.
The pitch was as alive as a dead horse and seamer's nightmare during the last 30 overs or so.

Exactly!! your observation is very much accurate..
From watching the match and hearing Bashar's evaluation after it.. it seems that BD's approach was more like this:
**sustain and not let go wickets
**play upto potential and everyone trying to contribute according to ability
**Think of win only if it seems visible aftar having a solid 'starting-overs' and good scoring 'middle-overs' and some handsome number of 'late-overs' with good number of wickets in hand!
In short, not think or plan for straightforward win/chasing .. but supreme priority was to hav a solid innings in total!!
The team did that pretty handsomely and confidently .. (the BODY LANGUAGE I am talking about)... and yes.. they charged to reach the TARGET quite a few times in their innings as well (Remember Bashar-Aftab.. or Pilot-Mahmud partnerships?)
so many people is simply disliking this approach .. but I myself am utterly happy with the outcome of this approach!!
I'm certain that in the upcoming matches (IND n later..) they will charge more n more towards the victory line if they can retain the SOLIDNESS of their innings!!
