Yeah he played a very nice looking cover drive early in his innings. He couldn't rotate strike as easy early in his innings but he picked out a full and wide delivery and absolutely pounced on it like a true tiger. Commies were right about him being an organised player.

Thats because Ashrafool has played international cricket for over 10 years now while this is Shamsur's 2nd ever match for BD.

Although he made a low score last game he got out in the best way possible. Played a gorgeous looking sweep shot but got caught on the boundary, I like the look of this guy. Seems like a composed batsmen.

Actually, if had played it a bit better it could have gone for six.

He has played only 3 matches and I like what I see so far. I want him to play in ODI and T20 and get a few matches before a decision is made. Zia played well in his first few matches, but could not readjust once the bowlers adjusted. Can Shamsur?

Seems like a fine batsmen. 1 bad lbw decision, 1 glorious innings and another mistimed shot where he intended to clearly hit a six. Really isn't much to speculate on, but I trust him. Needs to be given a go in the ODIs as well.

give shamsur a decent run, even if anamul comes back you could keep shamsur as opener (since anamul likes the #3 spot) or put shamsur as #3. but if those guys don't work out then i would probably look to soumya, but i reckon he should be given chances in t20s first.

Agreed that Shamsur needs an extended run in the ODI and T20. Let him know that his place is safe for a few matches so that he can play without that extra pressure.

Shamsur just played two games with some mixed result but more positive than negative.... and we already trying to judge him as if we already know enough how he will develop over next year or so?

How many years we are watching a senior player like SN or Ashraful or Shahadat for example? And how come we still have hope for their progress with no track record of any significant progress over time?

On the other hand after watching few games, we can tell whether Shamsu/Monimul is ready or not or ODI meterial or not... etc etc...

I request to all, once they are in the team, please be patient with our young players....don't help selectors scew up their career ... by chopping them too early before they get enough time.

if we can give ashraful so many chances in several formats after that 190 then why not give shamshur some more chances after that performance in the 1st t20

We've established an ugly and harmful trend in what passes for our cricket culture. Namely, allowing a bunch of CLEARLY inadequate players an extended run in international cricket until their inevitable failure to sustain success at the highest level becomes obvious even to the most careless among us.

In that light, it would only be fair to have Kpa Shamsu play many more international matches until he too succumbs to the inevitable. Winning be damned!
