Australian BC-ites may be familiar with this song. Beautiful lyrics.
"If I could bottle up the sea breeze I would take it over to your house
And pour it loose through your garden
So the hinges on your windows would rust and colour
Like the boats pulled up on the sand for the summer
And your sweet clean clothes would go stiff on the line
And there’d be sand in your pockets and nothing on your mind..."

ammark, thanks for posting these. While I'm still somewhat partial to the old Farida Parveen renditions, I must confess to being impressed by this vocalist -- she has pipes. Is it Shumi?

Agree. She does have pipes but I've yet to find someone like Farida Parveen. I'm a huge fan.
achcha, as we are talking about Lalon here, I listen to "Bangla" a lot, this particular song specially that I used to listen very often 5 years back, excellent song by Arnob
but I still don't understand the song much, is it a bit critical about religion? what is "Alek baji"

I've shared a video of this guy before, but I really can't recommend his covers enough. They've even made me like songs that I was ambivalent about/didn't like when I heard the originals!

It's more electro-hop. I just hate how every songs these days are electro/dance. It started since 30h!3 then LMFAO. It's gonna be that weird era in couple of decades.
