Bowling Coach for Bangladesh
Probably a year ago i read an article in a paper Bangladesh was trying to sign Wasim Akram as a bowling coach. However Wasim Akram had commitments with ESPN Star and only agreed if he did join, he would be coaching on a part time basis. There was no news after that. After a few months i read again somewhere they were contacting Waqar Younis. And once again that was the end. I feel we need a bowling coach asap. We have a lot of talented quicks, and there will be nothing greater for them than a good bowling consultant or coach. Remember, only a few days of training by West Indian great Andy Roberts changed the life of Mashrafee Bin Mortaza. BCB should seriously look at this matter. Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis are both idols here in Bangladesh and it will be fantastic for youngsters. However its not necessary we must have a big name former player in this role. But as i said, we definitely need someone...

Wasim Akram would be ideal for atleast a part time bowling coach. He came to bangladesh several times as commentator. He has spoken in favor of bangladesh few times. He has given tips to indian bowlers on many occasions in australia, bangladesh. Why not bangladesh?

Wasim Akram knows Bangladeshi cricket quite well. After all he calls DHaka his second home. Sarfaraz Nawaz of Pakistan is another choice.

Wasim Akram is a good choice as a bowling coach... He is familar with our country,culture.. more over he likes our country very much.. & we also like him 2 much  |

ZaKi, cant agree more with you. But Wasim Akram has become such a busy person, and his commitment to ESPN STAR will probably rule out the chances of becoming a bowling coach of any team. Any other person coming to mind?

Wasim Akram, IMO, has one of the best cricketing brains particularly for a bowler. He can teach a few youngsters to "think" about their bowling if nothing else.

What's Ambrose and Walsh are doing nowdays?? Having any one of them will be great.

I havent heard much about them off late. There are some great fast bowling coaches in the sub continent.

Personally I do not like paki coach. They had some great cricketers but coach? I don't see any. But 5-7 days cricket clinic by players like Wasim would be very encouraging for our U19, U15 players.

I agree with Rajputro vai...
Andy Roberts is the best choise for national team.After grameen phone pacer hunt programme we will get many speed stars. Andy Roberts can guide them also.

Forget Sarfraz Nawaz.This man is creating lots of internal problem in Pakistan.Among all ex cricketers nobody likes Sarfraz Nawaz and he is not a qualified bowling coach.My choice will be the Great West Indies bowler Andy Robert.  |

Yes we need our main coach (dav) to be non-asian just like the other asian teams have. But batting bowling coaches can come from anywhere.
I also believe we need a batting coach in addition to a bowling coach! I guess we need money?

Andy Roberts is fine but Wasim or Younis will be the greatest choice for learning the revers swing perfectly. Andy Roberts can't teach that to Bd bowlers!!!!! He is ok for finding out talented bowlers.

IMO, we should hire rafique as bowling coach - or at least to coach our spinners. Why go abroad when you have a capable guy in the country? No language problems either - he doesn't even speak pure Bengali!  |

Yeah Rafique can do a great deal for aspiring left arm spinners. But we need someone for our pacers. Since there is no proper candidate at home we have to go abroad to search for one. Anyway a big name player can do a great deal to the confidence of our current players and inspire the up and coming.
