How will we know? The ESPN STAR crew has not installed the speed gun for the BAN ZIM Test Series, i find this ridiculous. N eway i think i read somewhere Mashrafee clocked 147.3 when he started off. His fastest bowl in the Aussie tour was 142.4 . I doubt his pace in the current series is near 140. He is bowling around 120-130 kph, it seems.

I've seen him bowling at 138 km/h at 2003 World Cup. Haven't seen him bowling faster since then. IIRC, against India he delivered one ball at 137 km/h.

In this series, they haven't shown speed of a single delivery. I think don't have a speed gun now.

Akhtar and Lee bowl in the mid 140 kmph range with their faster balls going up to the mid 150s. Mashrafe, atleast in the series against India, averaged around 132 with his faster balls going up to around 136-137 kmph.

I've seen Tapash bowl over 135 on many occasions, and speed wise he is very close to Masri. Being shorter, however, he doesn't generate the same bounce as Masri. He is still pretty good though.

ok pardon my non serious, and off-colour comment - but can we please change the spelling of the post topic to "bOWLing"? Balling means something alltogether different - and trust me - in that arena, speed is not a good thing

Kader saathe kar tulona. Bret Lee and Sohaib Akhter holo worlder one of the fastest bowler. Mashtrafe sudhu Bangladesher fastest bowler. I don't think Mashrafe is conidered as a fastest bowler of Bangladesh any more. Tapash can bowl as the same speed of Mashree.

Eventhough he has reduced his speed a bit after the injury, he is still a fast bowler.

Masri speed has decreased slightly, his average speed is around 129-130Kph now. On the other hand Tapash has been bowling around 132-134Kph in average.

Actually, he was a fast bowler at the begining of his career. Now he is considered as a fast medium bowler. Tapash can bowl faster than Mashree now.

I saw Hasibul was also bowling around that speed in the 3rd ODI against India. May be Mashrafe needs to take the ice treatment the of BCB high performane coach to increase his speed up to 148 km/h like a real fast bowler.

I closely watched bowlers bowling speed over the years.

McGrath terrorises with mid 130km/h speed. Pollock at times bowls slower than that and gets wicket too.

Akram was in his early days +90mph(144kmh) bowler, but later he slowed down to mid 130s as well.

Speed is just one essential part of pace bowling, movement and line /lenght is equallly important.

Hight is essential as it gives the bowler extra advantage. Imagine a good lenght bowl hitting the deck and bouncing 2 inches extra while the batsman was on front foot.

Masri has good control and his height gives him the edge over Tapash.

Most of bd bowler are short and bowls slow as well. The Najmul guy, he can be a good ODI bowler, but with his pace and height, I would be surprised to see him successful in Test cricket. Selector's favorite Tareq Aziz and Anwar hossain Munir never look like a good prospect for test matches.

The lil of Talha that I have seen, makes me think that this guy could be a good medium fast bowler.

Imran

How bout that Shahadat Hossin Rajib, I heard ppl making references to him as the current fastest bowler in bangladesh, even faster than Masri. Plays for the Under 19 team. About Masri's height but a lot leaner
