Default Afridi sets sixes world Record!!!

Dashing Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has set a world mark in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) by belting his 190th sixer during his 26-run cameo against Australia in the first of the VB-series best-of-three finals.
Pinch-hitter Afridi Friday surpassed the record of Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya, who had achieved the feat in 325 ODI innings.
Afridi’s effort came in his 189th innings. The 24-year-old Afridi was propelled to fame as a teenager in 1996 when he blasted the fastest ever one-day hundred against Sri Lanka in Nairobi by scoring a century off a mere 37 balls.
Prior to Friday’s first final at Melbourne, Karachi-born Afridi needed just two more sixes to create a new world record and he did it in style when he lifted medium pacer Andrew Symonds over square leg to the amazement of over 27,000 spectators at the MCG, The News reported Saturday.
Following is the list of batsmen who have hit 100 or more sixes in ODIs: (batsman, country, matches, innings, not out, runs, highest score, strike rate, sixes): 1. Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) 198-189-9-4,325-107-106.50-190 2. Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) 334-325-14-9,924-189-88.57-188. 3. Sourav Ganguly (India) 267-258-20-9,936-183-74.28-168. 4. Chris Cairns (New Zealand) 199-180-22-4,697-115-83.53-144. 5. Sachin Tendulkar (India) 342-333-32-13,497-186*-86.20-142. 6. Inzamam-ul-Haq (Pakistan) 335-311-44-10,631-137*-85.20-142. 7. Vivian Richards (West Indies) 187-167-24-6,721-189*-90.20-126. 8. Wasim Akram (Pakistan) 356-280-55-3,717-86-88.28-121. 9. Brian Lara (West Indies) 251-244-26-9,280-169-79.75-110. 10. Aravinda da Silva (Sri Lanka) 308-296-30-9,284-145-81.13-120.

Well done Afridi! But there is a distinct difference between the other players listed by bat&padTogether and Afridi. Others are sixer hitter where most of win came but in case of Afridi it was not.
Haru party'r sixer, Goro aro record goro ar harte thako. who cares!!!

Shahid Afridi is a waste. His obsession for hitting sixes has cost Pakistan so many games.

30 runs, 20 balls, 2 sixes
16 runs. 8 balls. 1 six
8 runs. 4 ball. 1 six.

That is how Afridi plays.

He is the glamour boy, like Shoaib. Immensely talented but forfeiting those talents for the more glamourous acts.

Afridi is a much better ODI player than Ash. He has much better batting average compared to Ash, incredible strike rate and good ODI bowling average.

Afridi had the potential to be one of the best-allrounder in the world.

As is the case with many an immensely talented Pakistani Players, he let the fame and success get to his head and became the glamour boy instead.

He forgot that what separates good from the greats is the ability of the latter to rise to the occassion and make a difference to the team.

I can't deny that he's exceptionally talented at swinging bat. Making 2 centuries, 31 half-centuries in ODI, with an average of 24 is incredible for a batsman who uses bat the way he does. And his short test career isn't extremely poor either.

It's an insult for Afridi when some people compare our Rokon with him.

He averaged 38.5 off seven innings this VB series! He was consistent this whole series... with ball and bat. He averaged like 2.5 sixes a match! He was Pakistan's player of the series if you ask me... if only he would grow a brain and stop trying to trying to hit a six every ball... he can become a great allrounder... his bowling has always been decent and his batting is becoming more and more useful...
