Default Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) in Hindu scripture?

Quote:
Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhyay, a Hindu professor, in his stunning book claims that the description of the "Avatar" found in the holy books of the Hindu religion, matches the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

These are the FACTS verified and supported by eight other eminent pundits.

What the author says is that Hindus, who are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Kalki Avatar, are simply subjecting themselves to never ending pain. Because, such a great messenger has already arrived and departed from this world fourteen centuries ago. The author produces the following sound evidences from the Vedas and other holy books of the Hindu religion in support of his claim:
1. In the Puranas (Hindu scriptures), it is stated that Kalki Avatar would be the last messenger of God in this world. He would be for guidance of the whole world and all human beings.

2. According to a Hindu religion prediction the birth of Kalki Avatar would take place in an isle, which again according to Hindu religion is Arab Region.

3. In books of Hindus, the names of the father and the mother of Kalki Avatar are given as VISHNUBHAGAT and SUMAANI respectively. If we examine the meaning of these names we shall come to some very interesting conclusion.
VISHNU (meaning God) + BHAGAT (meaning Slave). Slave of God = ABDULLAH (in Arabic) is the name of Prophet's (PBUH) Father. SUMAANI (meaning peace or calmness). Aamenah (in Arabic means peace) is the name of Prophet's (PBUH) Mother.

4. In the religious books of Hindus, it is mentioned that the staple food of Kalki Avatar would be dates and olives and he would be the most honest and truthful person in the region. Without any doubt the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is acclaimed to possess these qualities.

5. It is stated in Vedas (holy book of Hindu Religion) that the birth of Kalki Avatar would take place in an honourable clan. This perfectly fits the Quraysh where Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) belonged to.

6. God would teach Kalki Avatar through His messenger (angel) in a cave. Allah taught Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) through His messenger Jibraeel (Gabriel) in a cave known as Ghaar-e-Hira.

7. God would provide Kalki Avatar with a very speedy horse to ride and travel the whole world and the seven skies. Indication of burraq (horse) and Me'raaj (the night when Prophet [PBUH] travelled the seven skies).

8. God would provide Kalki Avatar with divine help. This was particularly proved in the Battle of Uhud.

9. Another dazzling account given about Kalki Avatar was that he would be born on the 12th of a month. Whereas the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was born on the 12th of Rabbi ul Awwal (Hijra Calendar).

10. Kalki Avatar would be an excellent horse rider and a swordsman. The author here draws the attention of Hindus that the real days of horses and swords have gone and the present time of guns and missiles. So it would be foolish on the part of those who still expect Kalki Avatar, who should be an excellent rider and swordsman to come. In fact, the divine book, the Holy Qur'an, contains qualities and signs attributed to Kalki Avatar reflecting on the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

The author has given numerous arguments in favour of his claim that Kalki Avatar is in fact Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and those who still await the arrival of Kalki Avatar should not waste time.

In Quran, Allah says that a messenger/prophet has been sent to every nations.

And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. (Qur'an 10:47)

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e., do not worship Taghut besides Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). (Qur'an 16:36)

I have also heard in a lecture of eminent muslim scholar Zakir Nayek that Upanisiads and other Hindu scriptures like all other religious scriptures might have been divine messages, but they have all changed drastically with the passage of time. Many prophets have been elevated to the position of Gods and additional stories have been added. So basically, these religions might have traces of divine messages but Quran is the only book that will be protected by Allah till the end of the world.(No offense to people of other religion in this forum, these are my views based on my belief in Islam)

I found the above article interesting, as I never thought Hindu scriptures will have anything like that.

Pardon my ignorance. Has the Islamic calendar something equivalent to BC in Christian calendar ? I've never seen it being used before.

Neither did I. Have no idea which scripture gets into such detail.

In my understanding is that the ten incarnations of Vishnu represent the 10 stages of evolution of man. Kalki stood for the end of the world, after which the creation cycle will begin again.

Okay, thanks.

BC - as in BC and AD (before Christ).. I intended to say that I have never seen pre-Hijara years being mentioned in terms of Islamic calendar, whereas this article does.

I don't really have the knowledge for a debate. So I'll remark something and pass on.

From what I know, the 'avatars' don't refer to real people at all. Hinduism is heavily symbolic and this is one of those things.

For details about the ten incarnations of Vishnu, see : http://www.public.iastate.edu/~wsanf...n_avatars.html

Buddha is included as '9A'. This is the 'modern' version. The conventional version has Balarama (9B here) as 8 and Krishna as 9.

If you rid it of the mythological stuff, a pattern emerges. It starts with a fish, then a amphibian, a boar, a half man and a dwarf. The sixth is 'Rama the Axe-Wielder' (Parasurama), Rama whose weapon was a bow, followed by Balarama who used a plough. In Krishna it reaches the 'modern' man.

The pattern here is that it vaguely follows the theory of evolution - of life forming in water, then moving onto the land. In the dwarf, it reaches an early stage of man. The next three symbolises the stone age (axe), bow & arrow and agriculture. All this might be a coincidence, but a very interesting one.

Moving along in the same way, Kalki stands for the final destruction of the world. This will be followed by another great flood and the cycle of creation will begin again. I don't think the incarnations are really about God at all.

Chinaman Bhai, I am quite sure this is false. This is nothing but propaganda.

notice how it doesn't give any reference to exact verses of vedas. it doesn't even mention from exactly which veda it is talking about. ( there are four vedas) This is done by people who have poor knowledge of vedas.

I searched for the name "Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhyay" - and guess what? it is only found in islamic websites.

This guy/girl never loses a chance to say against islam or muslims. one two months back, I created a thread where thanks to arnab who posted all the history of bengal, this guy/girl comes up and say muslims are taking credit of hindus in bengali history that hindus did. He/she says that the history that is being said about muslims in bengal, was created or fabricated in pakistan era. I'm not saying exact word by word, but doesn't it means the same. Here's what he/she says

thanks Arnab for posting this. Its a great read.

However, reading through the early and the middle ages - I find this Banglapedia version of history is very Muslim-Centric. It downplays the Hindu elements of our history and glorifies/justifies the Muslim involvements. (This is a sort of Pakistani version of Bengali History) This sort of History was developed during the 50s and 60s which was politically motivated at that time. Unfortunately we are still continuing that legacy in Bangladesh (Banglapedia was developed through govt. money)

I have been reading a great series on our history being written by Prof Ghulam Murshid and being published in Prothom-Alo. I found this version to be much more balanced and objective. As soon as the Prothom-Alo server comes back I'll post those links. That series started back in March/April of last year and it is published once every two weeks.
huh! Iqnorant! By the by, his/her first post says this on the thread. Here's the thread:

sorry for the offtopic discusstion, but couldn't help but revolt against such iqnorance.
