621 in 50 overs!
From the Daily Star:
StanChart Cricket
A world record!
Sports Reporter
The ongoing school cricket tournament was marked by a new domestic record when BKSP-B amassed a mammoth 621-6 in a limited-overs match yesterday.
The total, in 50 overs, could also find its place as a world record but information about school cricket was unavailable.
The team on the receiving end of the assault were Scholastica, beaten by 555 runs after being all out for 66 in the Standard Chartered Under-15 Young Tigers school cricket tournament match at the Lalmatia Housing Society ground.
Saikat Ali hammered a 75-ball 153 with the help of 17 fours and 10 sixes while Mominul Haque smashed an unbeaten 88-ball 170 that produced 17 fours and 11 sixes. But it was Shahzada who stole the show with a cameo 143 off only 59 balls. He hit ten fours and 14 sixes.
BKSP A (472-7) also rode on two centuries by Ahmed Khan (113) and Ashrafullah (140 not out) to outplay Badda Alatunnesa (57) by 415 runs.
In the day's other U-15 matches, Sabuj Biddyapith (105-2) defeated Happy Times (104) by eight wickets, Government Laboratory (133-2) also managed an eight-wicket victory over Mishu Pre-cadet (132), Rahamatullah Model (196-5) beat Dhanmondi Tutorial (194) by five wickets, Junior Laboratory (149-4) registered a six-wicket victory against Nabakumar (146), Shaheed Ramizuddin (384) handed a 299-run defeat on Bangladesh International (85) and Paramount (164-3) beat Uttar Badda (161) by seven wickets.
In the U-17 zonal match, North Zone (114-3) beat East Zone (113) by seven wickets.

Are they playing these matches on proper grounds? Aren't these kids scoring too many sixes, almost seems too easy! They aren't even 15, I can't see them scoring this many sixes on decent sized grounds.

may be they are playing with tennis ball. playing with real cricket ball and hitting that many sixes in a full length ground is not very likely.

Must have been a puny ground and horrible bowling opposition.

This is simply great against any kind of opposition regardless of pitch!

This is great.
to the team.
I too think that they were either playing wiht a tennis ball or they were playing on a small pitch.. The small pitch is more likely.

bksp kids always are amazing, they bowl and bat with dicipline during nirman. but for some reason these players become extremel ordinary when it comes to international level. I have played a match against a bksp team, I was amazed at their dicipline. I wonder what happens to them as the grow up.

dare I mention the last BKSP triumph? I allude to the Gothia cup victory. Somehow, watching the video of our 18 yr old Bakhtiar - wherever he is now - running arond 12 year old Brazilians, wasn't too inspirational.
Erokom udhbot results naturally lead to suspicions

heh heh, hope this doesn't happen to Willes. We used to go up against this guys all the time during my time there. Won our fair share too. Rokon used to play for BKSP I think back then - used to get all the chicks cuz he was tall and debonair.

Man...i guess the cricket league here in riyadh is better than the league in dhaka. we have teams like bangladesh int. school (my school) playing wid pakis, ind, srilankan, british schools. and our u-15s also play wid the leather balls and on big rough grounds under extreme conditions......however, most ppl here r not interested in a career of cricket and so it does not go beyond an interschool level. In the last tournament, Imran Khan was the chief guest at the final presentation ceremony

If that's what you think then buddy, the only thing I would tell you is that you are not aware of the new standard of domestic cricket that has been raised in BD now and its on rise!

I think the ground was pretty small. Considering how many sixes were hit- i think the 30 yd circle was the boundary.
Damn- why didn't i play Nirman in that ground?!!

You were in Willes? Man, what cheats. When I played Nirman, we had a team of 15 y ear olds and we lost to Willes who were all old enough to be our fathers! That was the first year that Opee stopped playing Nirman for Willes, and he was about 20 then, but his brother Opu was still playing, and he was atleast 18! I don't know why, but all these teams use to play recent graduates as well as kids in 11th and 12th grade in Nirman!

Hey hey! The only doubtful practice we had was of playing some of the Metric-fail guys. Opee & Mohammad Ali both had a tough time graduating - and Nirman did not have any eligibility time-frame. If you were enrolled you could play. Sour grapes Sham! sour grapes
BTW, the reason I say it was doubtful was because playing the metric-fail would prevent opportunities for some of the other players - such as your truly
