Bangladesh continued their miserable show in the first innings for the third time in-a-row as batsmen refused to learn from their mistakes and were shot out for a meager 131 in the third and final Test at Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy today.
Bangladesh started the day on 72-4 with Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful and middle order batsman Tushar Imran on the crease. After a cautious start both threw away their wicket playing reckless shots to gift Sujeewa De Silva two precious wickets on his Test return.
After their departure Muralitharan ran through the lower order to skittle Bangladesh for yet another miserable Test score. Muralitharan picked 6 wickets for 26 runs and amassed 100 wickets in his hometown Kandy.
Rain took the center stage just after completion of Bangladesh innings and Sri Lanka could only reach 30 without loss as weather permitted only 40 minutes play after lunch.
