Rain Interrupts play but bowlers put Bangladesh in command in Trinidad.

25 March 2007

Match is further curtailed to 21 overs a side after 4th rain break

Rain is playing with the patience of crickets fans around the globe and especially with Bangladeshi and Indian fans. After a long painstaking rain delay play started after about one and half hour behind scheduled time and was curtailed to a 41 overs affair. Bangladesh struck immediately but rain again interrupted play just after 3 overs.

After another 1 hour rain break, the match was again curtailed to 35 overs each. Unfortunately rain has allowed only another 4.4 overs play before interrupting again.

Within that brief period Bangladesh managed to pick another two wickets to gain firm command in the match. Currently rain stopped play again and Bermuda is struggling at 17/3 after 7.4 overs.

Earlier Bangladesh Captain Habibul Bashar won the toss and decided to field first. Bangladesh got the desired result in the 5th ball of the match when paceman Mashrafe Mortaza removed Outerbridge for 0.

Mashrafe Mortaza took 2 wickets from his 4 overs for 7 runs while Syed Rasel picked the danger man David Hemp for a duck.

Bangladesh will move to the super 8 if they can win today and that will see the end of India in this world cup.
