South Africa eased to five wicket win in the first Test of the two-match Warid Telecom series within first hour of the day 4 in Dhaka today.
Needing only 27 runs to clinch the Test, South Africa lost Ashwell Prince to Shahadat Hossain, but Mark Boucher and AB De Viliers steered South Africa to victory without any further drama.
Shahadat finished the match with career best 9 wickets for 97 runs while Mohammad Rafique bagged 4 wickets for 112 runs. Rafique needs another 2 wickets to become the first Bangladeshi bowler to join the 100 wicket club.
Jacques Kallis was adjudged man of the match for his 5 wicket haul which skittled Bangladesh out of the match.
The second and final Test between the two sides will start at Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong on Friday

Bangladesh 192 (Aftab 44, Morkel 5-50) and 182 (Siddique 74, Kallis 5 for 30)
